Hospital stay for dr b?

I am wondering how long dr b keeps you in the hospital after vsg? Also are there follow up apps after? How many and when? Just like to be able to plan since I'm coming from out of town.

You'll spend one night in the ICU surgical unit (private room) but can stay longer if needed. I personally felt 200% better once I got home to my own bed. You'll return after 3 weeks for the nurse (Monique) to remove your staples (painless) and then a follow up with the doctor 6 weeks after that (and every 3 months for the first year).

Wow. They keep you in the icu?  Sounds like the surgery is serious?  Now I'm getting worried!

Of course any surgery is serious but Dr.  B explained that the difference between discovering a leak in the surgical unit versus the ICU could be 5 hours versus 1. He just started using ICU in the past year and I suspect it's strictly precautionary and in our best interest - plus we get a private room! You have nothing to worry about, he's VERY good!
