So What is Different Now?

- I have dropped 4 almost 5 pant sizes (plus size 34/36 down to 26/28)

- shirts are 2x/3x rather than the 5x

- room between the steering wheel and my belly

- can bend over to cut my toenails and tie my shoes

- food is still an issue - how much? too much? I can tolerate a food one day and can't the next - very confusing

- eating is not enjoyable because food does not give me the satisfaction it once did i.e. social, textures, etc.

- liquids are easier to get down

- experiencing very rapid weight loss the past 2 weeks ( guess I am making up for the 5 week stall)

- I am getting quite a few compliments on the weight loss but I can't see it  (my brain and eyes have not adjusted to it yet)

Wow! You must feel so good! I have noticed your numbers moving quite quickly now, way to go!

I am in step 2 of the whole process and have had my first consult with dr b and my all day info session last week, now just waiting for the next step! I can't wait!

That is great. It goes so fast from here on. What did you do at your all day session? Dr. Savoie's clinic only has a 2 hour information session and no psych evaluations.

It was from 8 to 4:30, we (6 in the group) met with the nurse, dietician, psychologist, pysio and a post op sleeves patient that had lost over 100 lbs. it was a long day but very informative. We also had to fill out a questionnaire that was roughly 10 pages which the psychologist will evaluate and see if she would recommend an appointment before surgery. We now wait for our next call from either psyche for an appointment or to go sign consent for surgery.fingers crossed that time will go by quick! I would love to have surgery in sept but all they tell us is that it will be before christmas.

I think what Dr. B offers in his clinic is very good. My only complaint about the process is lack of support after the surgery. This isn't the surgeons fault but just what funding they receive and how they can best utilize the manpower and dollars.

It would be interesting to see the statistics from each clinic as to the long term success of patients weight loss.

Congratulations on your success to date jj, great job!

The psych part in Moncton has changed even since I went through it last summer / fall. I think it's smart to incorporate it into the all day session.

There are many little changes that just make life easier at a lighter weight. I'm much quicker to jump up from my desk at work and get something in the moment instead of waiting and getting everything at one time. Stairs are easier, I enjoy walking, I don't feel like im busting out of my skin, and personal hygiene is easier. I've gone from a size 30 bottoms to between an 18/20. I consider myself a slow but steady loser and actually think I'm in a stall at the moment but know my body is continuing to change nonetheless.

I've tolerated all foods and have never gotten sick to my stomach from the sleeve. I'm very grateful for the opportunity to have received this surgery.

I think I will have the ebbs and flows of weight loss. I  tend to think that I will stall for longer periods like you did and then have weight loss episodes. I am ok with that. I purposely don't weigh myself daily because I am worried that I will get discouraged if I don't see the scale move.

For you guys that have done so well losing...how is the skin. I picture losing the weight and hanging everywhere. It's the one big thing that I'm worried about!

To be honest this is what is happening with me regarding the skin:

- turkey neck is starting to become prominent

- I seem to be getting more wrinkles

- batwings have and always will be there

- at this point the stomach isn't so bad, I will have an apron but it may not be as bad as I think

Some of the above may be age related as well.

Overall at this point I don't care about the skin. I am just grateful to have had the surgery and experience the changes.

i am down 226 pds so far and skin was a worry for me too

i agree that i will def have an apron and batwings, i can tuck them under and kinda fool the camera but after the photo i take off in flight lol

my neck isnt too bad. the day after surgery i started a daily routine of using a firming moisturizer on my neck just like 2 minute rub and it is turning out great. maybe its all in my head but after that much weight i have no hanging skin. maybe i should have been putting it on my wings lol

the boobs are down to my knees and my legs will never be the same but gosh darn it...i will take the weight loss any day over cosmetics
