Meal Plans?
So I am on solids now and tolerating them pretty well. Still can't get a whole lot in and spoke with Suzanne and asked if I could eat every 2 hours. She thought it was a good idea. Currently I am only getting in 300-400 calories a day.
For those who are on solids what is a typical day for your meals?
Today I had:
Breakfast -1 scrambled egg, 1/4 c grapefruit
Lunch- 1/2 Turkey/Chicken sausage, 1/4 c steamed vegs.

2 oz of hamburg with cheese no bun(can't tolerate much bread)
Supper

i still use protein shakes in the mornings sometimes or whenever i have to be somewhere during my regular meal times. I also like to make smoothies with lots of yogourt, fruit, milk and skim milk powder to add protein. For snacks right now, my go to is greek source yogourt in strawberry , i add freshfruit to it as well.
If you want more info, let me know.
Thanks for the reply. This helps a lot as I get an idea of what type of foods are eaten. I tried cereal the other day and could only manage about 2 teaspoons.
I have been trying a piece of toast with some havarti and I can tolerate that for an evening snack. I ordered beef with broccoli from the Chinese restaurant and could tolerate the broccoli well but very little of the meat. Rice was ok too. Of course I ended up bringing 2 take out containers full home. Dad was happy as he had a couple of meals from that.
I really hope the food thing gets better. One woman I spoke with in the waiting room told me it took her about 4 months to be able to eat and get in the groove with liquids and food.
What is really, really strange for me is I really could not care if I ever eat again.
The not caring if you eat will eventually go away. I try to do 500ml of liquids between each meal. If you are still snacking, that would mean a cup before and after each snack so you fit at least 1.5 l per day without trying too much. At the beginning, it took a lot of sipping to get it all down within 24hrs but it also gets better. I can't do take out much, fried foods don't agree with me and bread feels like a brick in my stomach so we don't eat out much. If we do eat out, i tend to stick with grilled stuff as chinese food has a lot of fat might be the problem you are running into with their beef. I do most of my beef(as lean as i can find) in the slow cooker so it stays really juicy and not dry so it's easier to get down. I can't tolerate much in the way of carbs like rice, breads, crackers and such. If i have to go fastfood, as with most families this sometimes is not an option to get out of, at like mcdonalds, i get the grilled chicken sandwich, take off the bread and just eat it with the tomato and lettuce with either some salad dressing or ketchup or something like that.. I can usually eat about half the chicken at mcdonalds of their grilled bistro sandwich. My husband has gotten used to my ways and usually orders less than what he can handle cause he ends up finishing my meals. When we have to go to restaurant i try to choose the restaurant and check their website ahead of time cause i don't want to end up with nothing i can eat.
