Just had First Appointment in Bathurst!
I just had my first appointment with Dr, Semerjin in Bathurst this past Tuesday - April 2009 to June 2013 - long wait, but I hope it will be worth it...I had been leaning towards a lap band but because my BMI is 65, he recommends the VSG, and explained why. Im fine with that....So I'll have my 4 hour session sometime in July, and at the same time he wants to do an exploratory scope of my stomach due to the Pantaloc I'm currently taking to check for a hernia..then we will be good, and just need to wait - 5 - 6 months from mid June...Nov or Dec? I guess sacrificing my turkey dinner will be sooooooo worth it :) No big changes in diet or exercise until then, other than give up pop(bubbles are bad), and any bubbly booze - not a biggy, as I rarely ever drink...try to eat a bit better, and get a little exercise.....Pretty excited and relieved to have my first appointment in!!
That is excellent news. I was leaning towards the band before my initial consult. I was given the pros and cons of each and took a month to research it and went back. I chose the VSG procedure and am happy that I did. It seemed to be the choice of the majority in my group session. I think there were 10 of us and only 1 was having the band!!!!!
Congratulations Lisa. From my consult to surgery was 3 months. How long had you been waiting for your consult? I was 4 years almost to the day.
Dr. Semerjian is really nice and very thorough. Dr. Savoie did my surgery but Dr. Semerjian did my hospital visits.
With the time frames of the surgery shorter now you may be all done and eating solids and be able to eat your turkey dinner.
