Ouchie
On Wednesday I bent over to pick up a sock to put in the washing machine and got a horrible pain on my left side. Couldn't take a deep breath and when I moved the pain was horrible. I went and sat down and took an ibuprofen to see if it would settle down. Well I felt like I had just been operated on. Off to emergency by the time I got there the pain was so bad I was crying. So off for a CT scan with dye. On the way back to the ER dept I had a severe reaction to the dye...so antihistamine had to be pushed into the IV line. CT scan came back with no tears or leaks so ER doc calls his gastric surgeon buddy and he said that I probably cracked a rib or pulled a muscle. Shot of fentanyl and sent on my way home and I was to call Dr. Savoie. Called Dr. Savoie yesterday and am still waiting for him to call back as the pain is still there and I am really uncomfortable. The ER doc told me that if the pain didn't subside then to come back to ER. I don't want to head back there and am still waiting for a phone call. Although the CT scan came back clear I am still worried that I have done something to my sleeve.
Just another note: I had a CT scan with dye a few years ago and didn't have any reaction so things can change in a few years.
Sounds like the same "pop" type thing I had except it was the opposite... I was in a lot of pain before and the pop scared me but relieved the pressure and I have felt better since and have been more mobile with bending however still cautious... Hope your feeling better... I felt like my rib was broken before... Maybe it was out of place a bit from the surgery and popped back in and tore or pulled a muscle??? How are you feeling now?
I am back! My dad had some diabetes complications and had his leg amputated so emergency trip to Ontario to help mom... Makes me realize the importance of the reasons I chose this procedure and lifestyle change. I had a stall from about day 18 for 3 weeks.... Man is it hard mentally as I knew I was consuming 200-300 cal a day and could hardly get anything to stay down..... I finally saw the scale move and during that time my clothes were starting to hang . I looked like I was wearing my grandpas dress pants lol. I have pretty much gotten rid of anything that was fitting me before... That was a great feeling!!! What time is your appointment Thursday ? That's when mine is !!!
Sorry to hear about your Dad. I am not too worried about the stall as I know by my clothes that something is happening. I spoke with Suzanne on Friday and she said that I would be losing inches instead of pounds probably because my stomach is still swollen.
LOL @ grandpas pants.
My appointment is at 2:30.
