Why am I gaining instead of losing? I can't eat very much. I waited a little over a week before jumping on the scales, I was all smiles, expecting to have lost 3 to 5 pounds. I was crushed to see that I gained 2 pounds. I have been slipping since then, especially at night. On the other hand I stopped gaining. I just don't get it!?!
can you give an example of what you would eat in a day? do you track your food intake? sometimes you don't actually realize what you put in your mouth if you are not conscious of the amts of calories, fat, carbs.... keeping track every single day, and i still do, in myfitnesspal, is what has helped me a lot.
Certain food doesn't take much to add a lot of calories in a day. I'm not trying to say you eat bad food, it's just hard for us to know if we don't know what your typical day is with food.
Do you exercise? Maybe your scale is broken? Who knows
Since I the last fill, I typically have half a bowl of Just Right cereal. milk and half a banana for breakfast. Lunch is either a cup of Greek yogurt with blue berries & raspberries or a 300 calorie frozen lunch. Supper is variable but I can't have more than a small plate of food. In the evening, I struggle with not making bad choices and this has been worse since I got on the scales because I feel that it is not making any difference. However, fruit & yogurt or cereal & milk are my usual snack when I am not discouraged.
As for exercise, I normally get a lot of walking in but I am not always consistent. I seem to either walk daily or not at all. I am a true northern women- I prefer the colder months for exercise. In the winter months I walk or snowshoe a lot. I hate the heat and bugs, so while I am active this time of year, it is not everyday. Tonight I dusted off the tread mill and walked for 35 minutes.
Are you getting in enough protein.... I could hardly eat one week... Felt sick and didn't get hardly any proteins in beside some Greek yogurt and I had a 2 week stall over it... My weight bounced around either up 2 or down 2 but at the end of the 2 weeks I was essentially the same.... Got in some eggs, protein shakes and fortified milk and had a 6 lb loss the next week,... I also find if its around my cycle time I can run a marathon and still not lose an ounce!!! Just stay focused...
