Hi, I know how you feel since my date is Nov 2011...I was on Dr B's list earlier but when I asked my dr to put in Bathurst too, they mistakenly cancelled Dr B so by the time they realized the mistake a couple of months had gone by.  I'm like you Christine_C77 I forget for awhile about it ...then a trigger happens and I'm looking all over the place for more information on wait times and what type of surgery...

I find it hard...my referral was in October of 2008.  I was told that it went in order.  But there are people here from 2009 already having their surgery with Dr Beausoleil...what's going on.  I only had my first appointment a month ago.  And I have to wait 6- 9 months for my surgery (at least that's what I am figuring by all that they've told me) ???

Just called Dr B's receptionist and she said if there is a specific reason or the person's dr called directly and asked to get it done, they will do them sooner.  Also, if there was a cancellation and the person in the list calls when she is looking for someone, they get to be put in sooner.  That being said, I called once a month or every six weeks, to see where I was on the list and when I asked about a cancellation list, she said that it is rare that anyone cancels.  I suppose after waiting five years, you don't want to give up your spot and by then you know for sure this is what you want.  I have to wait for Monique to come back and book another info session.  They said probably july or august.  It seems that once you are on the road, you stall.  You have your first appt and get more excited that your time is coming, but then you have to wait so long....

Whatever you do....don't lose hope....your time will come! Make sure you are ready.....surgery fixes the stomach but not our heads. If there are food addictions....emotional or stress comfort in food...surgery won't fix that. I went to see a therapist every once in a while before and it made a huge difference...

I was getting frustrated and down about the wait time also. I was referred in May 2009 to Dr. B and got my first appointment for July 29th. Please keep your hope alive!
