wait time for Dr. B
Hi,
this is my first post on here. just lurking most of the time.
It seems like people referred to the Bathurst surgeons are getting in sooner than those referred to Dr. B. or am I wrong?
I was wondering if anyone knew what referrals Dr. B was up to now. Last time I called - maybe back in september, his secretary said they were just up to 2009?
I was referred December 2011. I know I still have a long wait but just wondering how long...getting frustrated. :(
I was referred in 2009 and had my surgery last month. When I last saw Monique (Dr. B's nurse) she said she had 19 patients coming in the next afternoon! So I think they are moving as quickly as they can but for the patients waiting it seems like forever! I would imagine that they are close to the 2010 referrals by now.
It does seem like a long time to wait but once you get your first call it goes by pretty quickly! Don't get frustrated...take this time to prepare and get ready for your journey :)
i believe that bathurst is still on 2009 (spring of 2009) also.
they seem to be catching up to approx the same place as moncton as they now have two Dr's doing consults/surgeries.
when your on the list waiting, it certainly seems like it is taking forever...for sure...
by the way, congrats on being on the list and making a very big decision.
Your time will come. The waiting part sucks!!
I waited over 4 years for mine also.
I think most people feel the same way, that we should have made this decision earlier.
However, once you get your call, it will go by so fast. In the meantime, you can start making good changes now and then it will be way easier when the time comes!!
Which Doctor are you waiting for? They're not up to april of 2009 yet?? Sigh, December of 2011 is going to take FOREVER!! I try not to think about it so much. Most times I can just put it out of my mind - God knows I got enough stuff going on in there to begin with but every once in a while something triggers it and I get depressed all over again. I was looking at picture of myself at my highschool graduation in 95 and I remember thinking I was huge then and I would give my left arm to be that size again. Someday I know I will be and maybe even smaller, it's just that sometimes it seems like a dream that might never happen.
A good friend of mine waited 7 years to see Dr. B. but at the time she was referred, she was only 20 years old and no health issues what so ever. She actually forgot about the referral. I can't forget.
Sorry such a downer but I know people on here are the only people who understand. I can't really talk to anyone about it because they just don't get it.
Last i had heard it was about 7 years wait. Age has nothing to do with it. From the mouth of Dr. B. he doesn't like to put anyone in front of anyone, they go by referral dates, maybe there is a few cases here or there they might take before due to extreme situations, however he said that people shouldn't expect to pass in front of others.
Like i said, my wait was about 4 years to hear from them. Was referred Sept 2007 and my first visit with Dr. B. was Aug 2011 and then had surgery Feb 2012.
Waiting is though and long, but once you get there, it will have been well worth the wait!
Have you called the office to see where they are now? I used to keep calling every couple months to see how close it was for my turn.
