Wait time from first appt to surgery for Dr B

I have just gotten my first appt date of next week with Dr Beausoleil.  I am hoping to have the VSG done.  Can anyone tell me what the wait time is approximately from the first appt to the surgery date?  Do I have three months or a year.  I don't have the severe co-morbidities that will make me priority (according to his pamphlet they send out), so I have no idea what to expect.  I am going on a trip to Germany at the end of June so wouldn't take a surgery date for before that.  But just wondering on the time frame of things.  Also, what is the procedure as to how many appointments and who we have to see for this.  Sorry if this is all posted already, I lurked awhile back, but have just come back on...

Thanks all,

Kat

I was 8 months. I wouldn't bank on anything sooner then six months. You'll be contacted about upcoming appointments.

My surgery will be exactly 1 year from the first call I received from Dr. B's office. My first meet with him was in July 2012 and surgery is April 23, 2013 (so 9 months for me).

It all depends on the time of the year...it can be as early as 6 months or more like 8-9 if you happen to hit his holiday time....ya just never know...you will have his first meeting, then after about 6-8 weeks you will go for the full day session...from there it has changed since my time so it is just hot or miss with the other appointments, but I would guess you may be lucky to get it done by early Dec or so..sooner would be a bonus...

Good luck...how long were you on the list...I have a friend asking the wait time now???

My referral was dated October 2008. But with the changes to some of the things like the psychologist visit (or not) I hope it goes faster. What is the all day session?

I had my appointment with Dr Beausoleil today.  So starting on the road to this journey!  From what the nurse told me it will be about 2 - 3 months for the all day session.  And then when I saw the dr he said the surgery is about two months after the all day session.  I think that also hinges on whether or not I need to see the psychologist or not.

As they'll tell you at your all day session, the psych process has changed and the initial part is now done by a survey. I was lucky and did not require a meeting with them so that did not delay. Just be cautious with the timeline Dr. B gives...he told me I would have my surgery by the end of the year last year and I go next Tuesday. Monique (his nurse) has a better idea of actual timelines!  When I was there last week, she said she had 21 people coming in to see her on Thursday afternoon alone!

That being said...the process does start to move fairly quickly once you get the all day session done!

Oh I hope to god it's not gonna be a year. After waiting so long I'm ready to go! This is worse than planing your wedding and then waiting for the date! Lol

Give the office a call. I called every week checking. I probably drove the secretary nuts! Lol
