Inspired to try again....maybe!

When I lost weight so fast after my first band surgery, I was going through clothing sizes like crazy. I started shopping at Value Village and a consignment store and would buy small-then-me sized to slim down to. When I was banded the second time I had gained back about 40 pounds after having an empty band for several months.  My clothing collection spans sized 12 to 22. I decided to get rid of anything less than a size 16, but I couldn't do it. I did get rid of the size 12. Many of the items are new and I really want to wear them.  So.....I have started to try to lose weight again. The first step was to get back on my walking/ hiking regime after a lazy winter and some health problems. I am doing OK in that respect- I started about 2 weeks ago, & walked over 10 kilometers on the weekend. I do love hiking.  My biggest obstacle is food choices. My husband buys junk food and i get into it in the evening.  I had stop buying chips & he started buying chocolate! ARGH!  I told him to stop the chocolate & be brought home chips yesterday.  I know I don't have to eat it but ....... Anyway, if i can curb the evening eating, I might start to lose weight again. I do well on my 3 meals & all day but it all falls apart in the evening. Just how much I was eating in the evening hit home when I was asked to check my blood sugars at bed time- they were a lot higher than I thought they would be. I think that I an eating a lot less than I did before surgery, and i would have lost weight before on this amount of food....but maybe I am just kidding myself. Oh well.....Here I go again!

Junk food is the devil.  Even for me, seems junk goes down just too good and it really doesn't take a lot to add up a lot of Calories.

I'm the same way, good with my meals, but at night time cravings starts and i just need to make sure I ONLY have healthy stuff around me, as if not, I will eat junk all night :o(

Have you tried a program like My Fitness Pal??  I have been tracking every single day for a little over 1 year now.  For me that is what keeps me accountable.  I even have my food diary open to all my friends to see so then i can try to make sure i don't get too much junk in.

Maybe make a rule, before putting junk in your mouth, try to eat protein, like cheese string or something, then if you have that , you will get full very fast and might just eat half of the junk food you would normally eat??

There is tons of tricks out there, the key is to find what works for us the best, as not all the same thing will work with all of us.
