Band failure!

There isn't a support group here & it is too far to go to Moncton for an evening meeting. I tried to form a support group a few years ago but it didn't get off the ground. Thanks for your support.

Sorry Kitty_Mom, didn't realize you weren't from Moncton, like I said, I've only been able to attend 1 due to my work schedule, however for people that are able to go once a month, it prob is very helpful

Being "answerable" to anyone helps a lot. I recently journaled my blood sugars, exercise, & food and found that because someone else was going to see it, I thought twice before eating at night.

I AM HAVING THE SAME TROUBLES...I ONLY LOST 30 LBS IN OVER A YEAR....I VOMIT NON STOP AND ITS LIKE EVERYONE ELSE IS LOSING....I AM SORRY NOW I DIDNT OPT FOR THE BIGGER OPERATION BUT AT THE TIME I WAS EVEN TERRIFIED TO HAVE THIS DONE JUST THE LAP BAND......I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT IN MAY BUT I AM CANCELLING TOO I GIVE UP...IKNOW I SHOULD B GREATFUL TO GET IT DONE BUT I WISH I COULD JUST TEAR THE FREAKING THING OUT......I CANT GO ANYWHERE TO HAVE A MEAL CAUSE OF THE VOMITING....IT SURE CONTROLS YOUR LIFE IN THAT ASPECT BUT YET ALL IT IS DOING IS STOPPING ME FROM GAINING WEIGHT....I THINK U HAVE TO WORK OUT STEADY AND SOME PPL JUST DONT HAVE TIME FOR THAT I KNOW WE SHOULD BUT WE DONT......HOPE TO KEEP IN CONTACT WITH YA TO SEE HOW ITS GOING.....

If you are vomiting that much, you need to keep your appointment and some fill  taken out. If you keep vomtting, the band will slip, if it has not already and you will need surgery .

well wwatchers was a bust. gained back what i had lost. going in for another fill at end of month.  lost only 30 Lbs. and still need to lose another 40. just about ready to give up. had company in for a meal and ended up getting stuck, had to throw up. embaressing.  my sister said why dont you get that dam thing out? Am 57 Yrs. old so not many options. why does the band work for others but not me. why do i sabotage myself by eating the wrong foods? i do well during the day but eat too much in the evenings.kitty mom you are not alone, sounds like we have similar stories. keep in touch, maybe we can encourage each other.

You sound just like me. I do so well all day but at night I eat all the wrong things.

Well Kitty...you know I'm right there with you. I have gained 30 of the lost 60 back and am really just tired of the useless traveling. It has been over 4 yrs now and it's tiring. It's all consuming. It's frustrating. Apparently, although your age once was a factor, Dr B no longer will do revisions for ANYONE unless it is to just repair the band. I made a pouch, a fairly large pouch. I've had every single fill unfilled over the past 3 yrs and although it's my own fault, if I could do the whole discipline part, I wouldn't have been here in the first place. It's been a long time since we've talked or done coffee...maybe we should once again. I've moved out of Oromocto but I'm still not that far away...and I know where you live. 

I would love to see you again. When can you do coffee?

Just a side note- when I was in Bathurst for the sleeve some of the nurses mentioned that they are seeing more problems with lap band patients than the sleeve. I think you may end up seeing that the lap band will not be an option in the future.
