Letter or call?
To be honest, I'm not sure what he thinks makes people ready. I guess I didn't ask.
Sounds like making small changes will help so it's not such a shock after surgery.
That is good 52 pounds down! It will make it easier for the surgery recovery.
When I was there, there was a lady for a first consult for the band and he accepted her right away, she wasn't sure if she would be accepted since her BMI was low, due to health issues she got accepted. She got her 4 hour session in mid April.
I guess now wait for the next step.
You will basically find out who your surgeon is when you get a call or letter, they both work off the same list.
It's kind of nice for Bathurst since the wait time will not be as long as having just 1 Dr.
They are both at the same clinic at the hospital, they work out of the diabetic clinic since there is no bariatric clinic in Bathurst.
When I called last month I was told he sees 1 to 2 NEW patients per week since there is allot of follow ups I guess and it takes a lot of their time.
He said he wanted to see me again in a month, it's not like they pu**** for 4-5 months. At that point you are almost there and it didn't bother me that much.
He is making decisions by experience I guess.
For the surgery, I was told 4-5 months from the time you sign..I guess it could depend if you have medical issues.
Good luck, hope you get your call soon!
