Yes, stalls are bound to happen it's just a matter of when. Lots encounter them at 2 - 3 weeks out and some may not have any for a number of months. They're hard on the head!

glad to hear its all progressing along nicely!!  Im mentally hopping from foot to foot - April 2009 and waiting for a call.....consult in April 2013 and surgery in July would be nice - during school break!!  Congrats!!

So, I called and spoke to someone at the bariatric clinic yesterday and dug for some info....They were able to tell me that they see 2 to 3 consults per week and I got it out of them that I have roughly 15 people ahead of me!!!! Yay I was so excited to think my consult is 5-7 weeks away so I said wow things are moving quickly and looks like I might get my call this summer and the girl said probably next winter  ??????? Why are these #s not adding up? I am so frustrated as why they will not give any info. And then when I read some of the posts it seems the call and things move so quickly. It is so hard to plan your life while waiting and being this close yet possibly so far away. Has anyone else called and got any different information?

I know it is so frustrating and confusing. I've been there with different answers when I called etc. The lady at the bariatric clinic only does the bookings and I think she can only guesstimate the time frame. It may go faster because if people need to change the date of the consult etc. that would bump you up faster I think. I imagine there won't be consults the week of Easter as it is a short week.

I called the clinic a couple of weeks ago and was told that they see 1 to 2 new patience per week.

I finally got my consult after almost 4 years to the day of my referral with Dr. Semerjian, my consult if March 19.

I remember calling last year and being told I would get a call by the end of summer 2012 and it never happened.

At one point last year I was also told that they were stopping new consults to catch up on surgeries.

I have a friend in Bathurst who had a lapband in Jan 2013 and was told 2-3 months to surgery and it took 5 months.

The consult is only a few days away for you now. It will be interesting to see how long Dr. Semerjian says for the surgery. What type of surgery are you aiming for?

I'm opting for the sleeve.

I will certainly keep you posted on the first consult as to wait times from then on.

If I'm lucky I might get in for the information session in March.

I am thinking that things are starting to move a little quicker in Bathurst as there are two surgeons now. As I understand the time from consult to info session was a couple of months. I am booked 3 weeks after my consult and Dr. Savoie said that my surgery would be this spring.

Hopefully you had a fun filled day on your session day!! Was it all that you expected or were you surprised in some of the things they had to offer??

I don't think I was surprised by anything that I was told as I have gotten a lot of info from this website and the NB forum. Oh yes there was one thing that I did find surprising is that most sleevers can't tolerate chicken after the surgery...I eat chicken 3-4 times a week so that may be something I am really going to miss if I am like the majority.
