New Forms and wait times??
I had my information session on October 23. Julie gave us the psych questionnaire then and told us to mail it back. I mailed mine back that Friday. I called about a week later just to confirm that they received it (you know what can happen with Canada Post sometimes!) and the woman took my name and number and said someone would call me back.
Fast forward to this week and I haven't heard anything so I called yesterday to see if (a) they received my questionnaire and (b) if there was any progress (I can dream!). The woman that answered must have been having a bad day because she was extremely rude and told me that there are a lot of people seeing Julie and there is no way they can acknowledge receipt of the questionnaires. I asked if someone could call me back to get some kind of status update and she told me "...it takes months. Don't expect to hear anything for months!" Talk about frustrating!!!
From what I read here (and that lovely response), I don't expect to hear anything until the new year now.
Believe me I feel your pain! Whoever goes in after this mat leave coverage is completed will have quite a mess to clean up!
Her assistant must have a lot of bad days, she's been curt, bordering on hostile, every time I call! Its very frustrating that this part of the process has become such a headache. I don't understand why they can't open the questionnaires each day and document this on the individuals' file. It drives us crazy thinking it may gotten lost in the mail and then weeks / months are lost. They seem to be finding their way back to their office so hopefully you'll hear soon. Keep us posted on your journey.
AND is Julie staying on after the other girl comes back from her Mat. leave...or is the other girl coming back?? Good luck...but yes this seems to be the "hold up" right now...Don't wait too long in the new year though....call back and if you don't get anywhere, call Monique and ask questions.....tha is my suggestion...Once you do get her "approval" it all happens so fast...so congrats on getting you full day session done...how many years where you on the list??
I didn't realize Julie was a mat leave replacement...I thought that was the physio therapist. It will definitely be interesting to see what happens when the person she's replacing comes back. Wonder if it will speed things up? I agree with Cindy - I don't know how difficult it is to keep a list of questionnaires they've received so if we call they can let us know they've gotten it. That's all I wanted - was to confirm that it didn't get lost. Now I'm left hoping it got there.
I've been on the list since early 2009. I was told earlier this year that I should be able to have surgery by the end of this year but that's not going to happen! Keeping my fingers crossed it will happen early 2013.
YEAH..she sort of got thrown in the deep end because they had hired someone else to do the Mat leave and about 2 weeks after the other lady had her baby, the new girl quit...so Julie was brought in with little training and it is her "first" job...so it has been a slow year...it got to a point in the summer that Dr B ran out of people to operate on...and the hospital was going to reduce his OR time...that is when they came up with the idea of the questionnaire....anyway...I hear there will be 2 of them working part time as of Dec first...so maybe the reg girl is coming back part time to start off with??!! I know there are LOTS of people all in the same boat and waiting to get the approval....
Good luck and I will keep my fingers crossed for a late Jan surgery for you....At least you will be able to enjoy you Xmas....

Julie called me back yesterday (over a month after a left a message to confirm that my questionnaire was received). She told me that the other psych (Amanda Goguen-Boudreau) is back working part time (as of this week) and that my file is now with her. All Julie would say is that they received my questionnaire and that it is now Amanda's responsibility and that she doesn't know when I'll hear from her because she doesn't know what her caseload is like. So now I wait again LOL
Here's hoping the addition of Amanda, even part time, will help speed things up for everyone waiting!
