I just purchased some gas X strips for surgery on Friday. I was told by the vets on the VSG forum that they help. Here's hoping since they say the gas pain is the worst part of this surgery.

Just a heads up... if it works I will let you all know. If you are interested I got them at Wal Mart.

I found the Gas X strips to be pretty handy, but I found what helped the most was a heating pad on my chest.  I'm so glad I remembered to bring it!

Oh!  Comfy slippers or slip on shoes will come in handy as well for when you're up walking    Good luck with your surgery!

Already packed alone with a loose pair of pj bottoms... I detest johnny shirts. I don't care if people see my back... but my bum IS OFF LIMITS lol

I also packed lip quencher, nasal strips, and some other personal items. I am trying to pack light but be thorough at the same time. Just debating on whether a one night stay is worth bringing my 'special' pillow (it's a body pillow).

What are your thoughts on that? Too Big?

Thanks,

Danielle

Dr B wouldn't let me take any Gas X in the hospital ... so I waited until I got home ;)

What really helps is to keep walking, walking, walking.  I think the few times I did take them was when I went to bed because the first few nights were really hard as the gas would "shift" up to the shoulder while sleeping on my side and wake me up.
