So it has been 4 month this week since my sleeve in Moncton...the summer has flown by and the weight has melted off.....back in Feb I went on to the Atkins plan to get my body ready for the changes that were about to come and lost almost 30 lbs before the surgery....so my weight at surgery was 342....today I am 282.....!!!!!!  YEAH....I am quite pleased with it...could do some more walking, but being a Mom to 4 kids under the age of 14 does take a certain amount of my day...and having NEVER been a exercise girl...it is maybe the hardest part of this whole journey....That may be the biggest surprise of this whole experience.  I am lucky that I am not hungry almost NEVER....BUT that can also not be a good thing as I do notice quite a "thinning" of my hair...OH NO.....SO I always start with my protein when I eat...but I worry that I am just not getting enough protein on a daily basis...have to try harder I think....anyway...just thought I would post an update....I wish there was more postings on this site...so I am starting here and now.....

Good luck to everyone out there waiting, and keep up the great work to anyone who is already on the other side....

Oh I am so happy for you!!! Exercise is never the easiest. Not sure if this will help you or not, but I have a Wii at home and bought Wii EA Sports Active 2. It is interactive and your avatar does what you do, and you have a trainer with you all the way giving encouragement. I break a sweat in a 20 minute workout and it is very gradual. I was over 350 and was even able to jog in place (go figure). Your kids may actually like it too, since they can 'join you' and you get to wear them out a *****ere's hoping, eh?) I had to force myself to get my 20 minutes in. I bought a foam interlocking mat set and I made sure I go ready slowly by getting dressed in exercise clothes (that was the beginning of the commitment to doing my exercise, once I start... I follow through)

Have you ever gone to the VSG forum on here? They have some great hints and tips on how to get protein in regularly. Since I am still in my pre-op phase (and HUNGRY) I have been on OH almost all the time, I am soaking up all the advise and positive information from all of you. I see how important this is to post and share.

Thanks so much for being such an inspiration.

Danielle

Thanks for the words...I do eat my protein 3 x a day...but getting any snakes in when you are not hungry and busy with life....I did use protein powder the first 4 weeks, but thught I was doing okay since then....but the first 4 weeks after surgery are the hardest...what to eat...that is so hard...those first 4 weeks just creep by, but they do pass and it does get easier...

When is your surgery??  He is great...I never had a minute of actual pain from the surgery....walk walk and drink the water.....

Good luck

 Thanks for the update!

Congrats on your progress!

I have been using My Fitness Pal every single day to track my food and excercise, maybe by tracking your food, you would be more concious of how much you are eating or not eating.

It's hard to get in all the protein in, i have just been able to attain at least 60 g of protein per day for the past 2 months or so, i think adding food in a journal helps me a lot to make sure i do get to 60 g a day.

Good luck to all upcoming surgeries!

....... not unusual at all to be "EXCITED" for the surgery by the way....most of us are really happy our time has finally come!
