I went for my pre-op yesterday. Lost another 5 pounds. I have ordered my shakes and bars. Start my pre-op diet on Sept 6th. It's getting real.... It's finally here after 7 LOOOOOoooooOOOOng years. It is finally here. If my first referral was not lost (after confirming the office received it, mind you) It took 5 years from referral number 2.

I am so excited. I have my hospital bag already packed. I have been going through this house trying to make sure everything is 'prepared' for when I have my surgery. Trying to clean and remove as many things as I can, bring firewood in now... (in case I have problems lifting afterward....) SO many things to keep me busy.

How is everyone out there? This forum seems slow these days. I always come here to see things. Perhaps we can revive this for the 'waiters' and the 'postop-ers'.

I am so hyper right now... I can't stand it!!!

 Hi Cindy,

Nice to meet you, I probably already chatted with you here... but I have a terrble memory. Have you heard anything new on your 'waiting' status.... I am so hyped to be a loser... been a loser in real life ... but this time... I will be a loser with a whole new meaning.... I swear this is like a natural high for me. I hope I maintain this momentum throughout my entire weight loss journey and maintenance.

Hugs to all your readers. We can all make this happen... and it will happen!!!

Oh I know that feeling. I am also nervous and excited. I feel the wait was long, but yet I feel more prepared than ever. I have been followed at a clinic in my hometown and although I have lost very little... I learned all the tools I needed to be successful... there is no "if I am successful" Just that " I WILL BE SUCCESSFUL".

Awesome isn't it? YAY for US!!

I started my shakes today and so far not overly hungry. How are things going for you so far, you have had a few more days on the shakes, do you feel ok or are you finding it hard?

The first few days are the worst. I was warned about this. I still get what I call the 'grumblies' my stomach growls and rumbles. I find I am kinds hungry in the sense that it must be 'mental hunger' because when I stop smelling food, or seeing it on TV or the subject is changed the 'hunger' disappears as well. I am so eager to lose the 'grumblies', they make me think and feel hungry though. I have lost 10 pounds since my pre-op visit and I go back and see them on Thursday. I don't cook and I have my family clean out the pots and pans and clear off their plates. I am a strong person, but I don't need the external urges from only consuming peanut butter crunch and chocolate shakes only. I am dying for ANYTHING other than that. Perhaps they should see about coming up with different options. I have gone to the VSG forum and everyone is on such different diets. Some are just liquid of their own choosing, some are on restricted regular diets and some have no pre-op diet at all.

DO drink water when you get the 'grumblies' or you think you are hungry... it does seem to pass the urge.

I felt light headed and weak for a couple of days. That passed as well. I took gravol if I got nauseated (it is OK on the pre-op diet), I found that Gravol did help quell some of the 'grumblies' that made me nauseous.

If I can think of anything else, I will send you a message or write it on here. If there is something I may not have listed and you are feeling, let me know, perhaps I may have felt the same thing just didn't think to add it.  Best of luck. Remember you goal... that is what is keeping me on this diet.

I went for my final weigh in before my surgery which is next Tuesday and I am down 18.8 lbs and really can not wait to finish these shakes as I am really getting sick of them. So you are close to your surgery date now, Good Luck and will talk to you again soon
