diet change
well, im almost 11 weeks out. i still can only eat between 1/4 and 1/2 cup of food at a meal including all carbs, veggies and protein.
i am finding that lately i am losing all taste for protein in the form of meat. i have to force myself to eat meat now where before surgery i could eat half a side of beef.
im thinking of visiting GNC for some type of protein powder so i at least get something in the form of protein if i stop eating meat altogether.
has anyone else gone through this?

Hi Sunnie,
I have not had my surgery as yet... but my sister had VSG and my friend had RNY. SO I have been getting tons of feedback from them. They have stated some of the same comments.
MY friend made shakes from whey powder (GNC) and used frozen plain yogurt and fruit for a meal. He also used lots of protein bars. He finds the premier nutrition bars he gets at Costco to the best tasting.
My sister is not much of a meat eater and has been living off of hard cheese, cottage cheese and protein bars.
I am a meat/protein eater (Chicken, beef, pork, eggs, cheese) and I am already planning to keep my meals on a rotation so I am not so flooded with the same old, same old.
Try and incorporate other types of protein such as Whey powder, soy products, and protein bars where you can. I, unfortunately, cannot speak from experience, but I hope what my friend and sister shared with me, will help you. I am hoping to avoid some of their pitfalls and come here all the time to see good suggestions and support from others.
Please let me know what you think of my suggestions and please feel free to offer any more suggestions that you find along the way, you may help me or some others who feel the exact same...

Good stuff... let me know how it works for you... DO you still have your gallbladder... I have gallbladder issues and get nauseated at some foods... I am hoping once I get the surgery it will either get removed or it will get better... who knows. Anyway... let me know how you are handling the whey powder... Raspberry sounds yummy!!!
hi, well not sure so far. i try to get 3 shakes a day. i was mixing them with 1% milk but im thinking this is too many calories. i changed one of them to water. and possibly a second. i have also added 30 minutes of treadmill per day as well as arm weights about 15 minutes. and i havent lost for 2 weeks. this is the first stall since surgery 3 months ago...guess im lucky but im wondering if its the shakes. i have so much more energy than i did but not sure...im giving it another week or two
