When to weigh????
VSG on 05/10/12
SO every since I was a young "pudgy" girl, I was always told to weigh myself first thing in the morning to get a true weight....so I do....again I have been sitting at a set number for the last week or so and it is just about killing me...but I go on..and them today I jump on and I am down 4 lbs since yesterday....YEAH I say...FINALLY...I know I am eating what I should and drinking as much water as I can...ANYWAY it was another busy day for my house of 4 kids under 13 years old, so I was at a fishing derby with 5 boys at 8 am (my 9 year old caught a 17 in trout!!!!)
Home at 12 noon, back out the door getting some last minute things for my sister-in-law (who lives with us) and back home to help her finish off some food that she was selling at the local multi-cutural Canada Day fest, and off to the market we go to sell the food.....finally got home about 6:30...hot and tired so I got a cold shower and as a habit, jumped on the scales....WHAT ..2 punds less than 7 am this morning....is that really possible??? It has got me totally re-thinking when to weigh myself...
ANYWAY...I am sure that if I got on the scales tomarrow morning I would be back up the 4 lbs...so I have decided tomarrow IS a National Holiday ....from the scales too!!! YIP YIP HORAYYYYY.....
Happy Canada Day to you all too

I weigh in first thing after using bathroom in the morning.
I weigh in a couple times a week, but ONLY keep track every Tueday (surgery day).
I think you get more of an accurate weigh in if you choose to do it at the same time in the day, and once a week. It works for me anyways.
Congrats on the weight loss!

I agree...it just blowes me away as to how little we can eat and drink, and still not lose any for 5-6 days in a row....I too record it once a week and go from there...like I say, some lose is better thatn a gain...so off we go again....in 7 weeks I am finally down 30lbs..not sure how that compares to most people , but for me, that is how it is going to be.
And when you consider that since Feb. I am down a toal of 60lbs...THAT makes me very happy...

It really just makes me laugh....I am 7 weeks post -op and can go for more than 2 weeks only down 1 lb, then 6 lbs overnight....and I am not changing anything...protein first and water water water....should exercise more, but do a lot of running around with the kids and soccer 4 nights a week.....anyway...as long as it goes down...I am a happy camper.....
Weight fluctuates as much as 5 pounds during the day- it is fluid, food. and nasty demons!!! Women's weight also fluctuates through the menstrual cycle. I always varied 5 pounds. If you become a slave to the scale (and I am definitely a scale slave) you are setting yourself up to be discouraged. You shouldn't weigh yourself (& count it) more than once per week. ....No I don't follow my own advice! When I had a menstrual cycle, my best, un-blouted weight was the day after my period started. So, in those days, if my weight didn't change during the menstrual cycle, I could count on my weight dropping 5 pounds after my period.
So to answer your question- first thing in the morning, on day 2 of your cycle. Now if you can do that, tell me your secret!!!
