Went to all day session yesterday
it was long and I had done so much research especially reading on this site that nothing was a surprise
there was 4 people and all going for vsg but they still had to go over other surgeries so we were fully informed then dietician then psychologist
my favorite part of day was when we got to talk to a person who had vsg 4 months ago and down 69 lbs we could ask her all the questions we were thinking
all in all good day
now anywhere from 3 to 6 months we were told before surgery due to vacation and all other things

Thanks for the update, it was helpful! I just had my first consult on Monday and am waiting to be scheduled for the all day session. For the reasons you noted above, it could be a couple of months. Please continue to keep us posted.

Well that is great news. Though the day was long it is one of first steps in your journey. Now comes the research and waiting game. Getting prepared for a new beggining. Congrats

Excellent news....my only advice now is to cutting back on waht you eat and take note of when you eat....I got delayed for a month of so becasue the Psychologist wasn't sure I was ready...really??  well I went home from that meeting and started the Atkins induction plan and stayed on it for over 2 months...I alos lost about 25 lbs in the process...so finally she was okay....but I find she even sort or quized me when we had our meeting...when to drink water and what would happen if I ate solid food too soon...bla bla bla...as you can tell...I didn't enjoy the process...but got through it.....Good luck...you should get done in about Oct or Nov depending on the vactions

Keep us all updated...

I know the waiting is the hardest part but I am starting to make some changes and learning to drink the way they tell you have to after surgery
I am hoping to be done before nov as I am going on a cruise in march and would like to be down some pounds and well enough on my way that I can enjoy the cruise a little healthier me

I just got my call for my all-day information session - Tuesday, July 10th! I had my first consult on June 4th, so I'm excited and grateful that I got in before everyone took off on vacations for the summer.

Are you weighed at the all day info session? I'm planning to start cutting back on the junk food and extras and begin journaling my intake after the all day session, this in preparation for my psych visit. I've probably put on weight since my initial consult knowing the junk-food-good-times are ending soon and really don't want my weight documented! It is what it is as they say but I was just curious.

im not sure which dr you are going to but i  had dr savoie and at the all day session, we were not weighed.  we met in a different room on the basement level of the hospital as a group and didnt go into the bariatric clinic at all.  if they are open im sure they wouldnt mind you slipping in to get weighed (i wouldnt think)
