how are you feeling after your surgery

Never really had a bit of pain from the surgery itself, and I was up walking within 8-9 hours after the surgery, so the gas/air that they pumped in didn't bother me either...but the pain was from trying to drink water the first 48 hours after surgery...WOW it is painful if I got a little bit of air at all...not nice....I was never put in the ICU recovery area and I think the nurses up on the other ward were not as up on what I could/should be doing....they didn't want to give me water til Monique stopped by late in the day of my surgery....

.Anyway...really hard to get any protein in, and all the water...I am using some protein powder in almost everything...and Thursday I am on "soft" food...so that will be nice...I haven't had any real food since about April 25th ....so even some whipped potatoes would be nice.....

I am sure you will get the call for the next session soon.....from my full day session time to surgery was about 5 months....you could be done before XMAS!!!!!  YEAH...

Good luck and if you have any questions just ask...all I can tell you is how it was for me...

Hi just got the call today and my all day is on June 4th
nervous but excited at the same time
Is there any advice you could give me about your experience so far
I am so afraid that I will fail or eat around the surgery as I am a sweet acholic and fried foods
I have tried so many diets only to gain all back
I am currently 256 with no health issues part of me is saying get off my butt and just do it the old way I am scared of the surgery in some ways I quess
other side says that if I don't do this I will be 20 pounds heavier next year and diabetes as it is in my genes

OK...the surgery part is actually the easiest part...HONESTLY....no real pain from the surgery for me...but learning how to drink water without taking a lot of air too...not so easy...HARD actually...that is where I had the pain...and it was painful, but only for about 2 days....being on the liquid only for 2 weeks is hard too...you can only drink so much before you feel like you are going to explode....The all day session is long and information overload....it is really too bad that they can not spilt the sessions up so that the people in each session are all having the same surgery, but I guess some people have not made up their minds before so...you will get ALL the information about all 3 surgeries...a little confusing, but take some note to refer to after.....My only suggestion is that after the full day session, your next stop is the Physcolist. (sp) and with the regualr girl being out on Mat leave...there are a few new ones....my girl was worreid that I was a binge eater!!??  I have never been a binge eater...but it held me up for 2-3 weeks while she "monitered" my food journal......I started Atkins right from then and keep it up wil my surgery...I LOVE choclate and Atkins is the only thing I have ever tried that took away my cravings and I NEVER was hungry...from Feb to May April I was able to lose about 20 lbs then the shake diet I went down another 13 ...so it was all good...NOW I stated up inthe mid 300's so I have a longer road...

But really it is all good and just ask, Monique will tell you anything you are worried about...they are great...

Keep me updated and good luck

thanks for the heads up about all day session
i think my biggest fear is that I am a very fast eater and slowing down is hard I know at first you don't feel like eating so its easier  when I have tried to slow down in the past I had really hard time was that hard to learn to do and I qet the drinking water and air thing as I also drink fast

BELIEVE ME...the drinking fast thing will knock you on your a_ _ real fast...but it is all possible...and using the time from your all day session to the surgery date is the time to practice.....READ lots and try everything...ask lots of questions and RELAX....that is all I can say...Personally I just took it as a gift to be able to rinally get it done and there was no way I wan't  going to do everything they told me to...SO start today and put down the fork between EVERY bite...take it slow and start writing down everything...it will help you in the long run...
