headaches are gone for now.
my family has decided in support of me, they are going to do the boost diet with me for a week.  im curious to see which one cracks first lol

down 13 pds so far on th boost.  im craving crazy stuff like steamed broccoli  (which i never liked)

i am getting a little nervous bout next week. scared bout the amount of pain i will experience.
i am excited to be on the other end of surgery though, so i will be closer to getting through the liquids, then purees, then real food again. even in small quantities, food is food and not liquid.

hope everyone is doing well this week

Hi Sunnie:

Everything you are going through and thinking is normal.  I shared the same thoughts.  The second week I thought I would lose my mind.  My surgery was in late November and I had to attend a dinner function and sit there where everyone else ate really yummy food all around me.  All I could consume was water.  I also craved food.  One thing I will say is that sticking with the pre-op diet is really important for several reasons and it is worth it to tough it out.

I was really nervous and thought about backing out the week before my surgery.  I also was scared about pain.  I will honestly tell you that the surgery for me was a breeze.  I expected to be in horrible pain but was really surprised.  It was the easiest surgery I ever had.  I was up and walking right away.  I was bored out of my skull and wanted to be released from the hospital after a day.  The staff are fabulous.  If you have any discomfort or anything they are there for you and will look after you. You could not ask for better care.  They gave me morphine pills to take home and I never took them. Even the incisions were not that sore.  There was only one incision that was more tender (it was where they pull the stomach from).

The post recovery eating phase went fast.  I expected it to be really mentally painful because I went through it all during Christmas season.  To be honest one of the really neat things I found from the surgery was that my hunger pangs were gone and I always felt full.  I had to literally force fluids, purees and solids into me.

Be positive and you will have a good experience.  I will honestly say that this was the best thing I ever did and wished I could have done it sooner.  I am finally living and feeling alive.  I have a ton of energy and feel awesome!  You can feel the same.  Keep us posted.

I totally agree...had my sleeve on Thursday May 10 in Moncton and NO pain at all at the actual cut sites...the only real pain I have ever had is total  GAS pain...so some reason I forgot to fill my mouth with water and then let it slowly slide down...I wasn't filling it as I guess I was a little scared at first...by WOW  it hurt...so after a few bouts of dry heaves and a visit from Monique I figured out what I was doing wrong and it has gotten better every day since....and Yes, I was bored too, so I was up at 9 pm walking, 3 am and again 2 times in the morning before the dr came around....like they say drink and walk...BEST ADVISE EVER>>>>

NOW my struggle is getting the required amount of water into me...NO way not so far, but I just keep trying, and have been adding the protein powder to lots of different things to compensate for the lack of protein....

Anyway...I agree...I wish the wait list wasn't so long, but I also think the local GP's never even think about this as an option so.....

Good luck and let us know how you go...
