I am less than 2 weeks from my surgery, omg I feel so panicky. Wondering if im doing the right thing, complications etc. I think for the most part I hate the people around me questioning what I'm doing, why I'm off work, & it is none of their business. Not many people know, my husband, my mom & sis know the are my biggest supporters, they rest I told them "problem with my bowels", I am afraid of people knowing what I am doing, not that I am ashamed at all I really don't want to deal with all those people that critizise, question, & tell you your taking the "easy" way out, when All of us know that is Not what this is!! I hate that I "lie" to my inlaws & friends about it, but I don't want the whole world to know, am I wrong!?
i also am soon having surgery, may17. and i feel some the same feelings you are having.
however, i have told anyone that has asked why i will be off work. i figured i have worked my whole life to lose the weight with no success. i am not ashamed that i have resorted to surgery. i just feel that some people will look at me or talk about the "easy" weigh out (pun pun lol)
but in the end, its really none of their business right? this is your body, your choice to be healthier. it maybe easier in the end to "fib" to the inlaws and friends if it is going to cause more grief than good. there are alot of postings on this subject here and in the VSG forum.
i think we all question why we are doing it and especially the closer we get to the big day.

All those feeling are normal for everyone i assume!
At the end of the day, it's really none of their business. People will always talk no matter what either behind your back or question you on why you are doing what you are doing.
My opinion, those people aren't worth our time!! It's simply none of their business!!
Myself had only told a handfull of people at work, and if anyone ever comes to me asking why i felt i needed to do what i did, i honestly don't know how i would react to it, but i am sure i would have a come back for them! LOL
If people ask how you lost weight, is also none of their business, but you can be honest and tell them you are eating less, eating healthier and started to exercise!! All of those will be true after surgery!
I am almost 2 months out of surgery and do not regret my decision at all!!
Hoping the best for both of you!!
