Dr B. and type of surgery

Hi all - just wondering - I have noticed that Dr. B. and the other surgeons in Atalantic Canada are doing the sleeve these days  more than RNY. Is that the case?

It seems to be. However, Michelle the tupperware lady- is having a RNY. The lastest research seems to indicate that the sleeve is just as good as RNY for the "middle" obese and the RNY better for the higher BMI numbers.  It is hard to find original research so that comes from reporting os research studies.....so the bias of the site plays a role.

I was wondering Kitty - because back in the day - RNY was considered the "Gold Standard" . They are doing WLS here in Newfoundland now. First one was done last June I think. They are doing the sleeve - and from what i see - the patients have had great results. They aren't active on OH - they have a private facebook group. I am part of it. I understant their need for privacy - Newfoundland is a very small place population wise and a lot of people aren't comfortable talking publicly about weight related issues. The tupperware lady? Is

Michelle used to post a lot about 2 years ago. She was my angel when I had surgery.

I will let Michelle know you are thinking about her.   Last time I dropped by for a visit she said she was taking a break from posting as she was discouraged by her long wait time for surgery.
