hi all,10 days in and doing well.still a little hesitant with what to do as far as activity is concerned,do not which to pull anything in there.pain remains very manageable, able to get liquids in quicker and withoout too much discomfort, the cream soups and smoothies not as much, but progressing well.Swelling subsiding is the reason im thinking that i am able to get more in faster, now when i say faster  i don't mean chugging, takes me about 30 to 40 minutes to get my protien drink in,thats down from over an hour.two days after surgery i weighed 3 pounds more than the day of,again due to swelling.now down 6 lbs.and holding for 3 days,i have to be carefull i keep expecting there to be a daily change.im sure the part of the stomach that is removed must weigh a few lbs. also.
hope that this will help some of u future sleevers.

congrats, it sounds like your healing is coming right along.
if you dont mind me asking, are you able to walk short distances or do small activities like regular house hold chores? are you driving yet? im thinking it may be a bit early yet
silly questions but inquiring minds need to know lol

hi there,no problems doing short distances, not a lot of stamina.driving getting better daily, rough roads are not friendly,i still get sore when sitting up straight for too long, short trips (2 hours)are no problem now.also no problem with small to medium tasks around the house. My biggest problem right now is energy and difficult bowel movements

wow, that sounds good though, i would think after having surgery.
i have heard several people mention that the bowel movements are either feast or famine. they say that you usually have to figure out what works best for you (ex. softeners, fibre supplements etc)
thank you for answering :)

Hi = not sure what type of surgery you had or if it was open or laparoscopic. Makes a big difference in recovery times. For me - a laparoscopic RNY - 10 days later I was walking every day - 1.5 to 2km or so. Doing LIGHT stuff around the house. No heavy lifting for at least 6 weeks. Gradually increased my activity level to my prevous normal and beyond. I went back to work at 8 weeks post op. RN in a busy ER - 12 hr shifts - regular duties - pulling, lifting pushing etc - no problems. Take care!
