fill but now I am feeling no restriction at all
Hi all
I had a fill on Thursday bringing me to 11 cc in my 13 cc band and I have absolutely have no restriction I have had restriction in the past but had been getting hungry and was deemed to need a fill , it was done under fluro and they tested to make sure they were in the port. I had restriction when they had me shallow the barium. Not sure what is happening has anyone had this experience I am famished.

I know some of my issue is just being able to eat without the restriction. I had been on a honey moon since Sept losing and eating just what I needed and filling full now I swear I can eat eat eat now at times I am hungry but other times I eat to see if I feel full I know sounds weird. Not only am I eating more carbs but my hair is falling out again . I am trying to get back to doing things better. I just need to kick myself in the a**. I am going to go back to basicsjjournalling and change up the excercise again until I can get to see him again. I need to get the sweet spot again. The radiologist told me at one point that I was starting to form a pouch and it maybe become a problem I am wondering if maybe that is the issue. i have read when that happens they have to unfill you and reband which makes me nervous it has taken me 2 years to get these 85 pounds off and it maybe sad to say but without a band I would have been those 85 pounds plus more.
I was re-banded last April. I expected that I would lose like the first time, but it has not happened. I lost 85 pounds the first year & a half. Most of it was lost due to not being able to eat at all, because I would start swelling as soon as I had restriction. Then I would have to be unfilled....I would gain like crazy because I had been starved. I lost more than I gained until the doctor decided I needed surgery. Then I gained half of the weight back. while waiting for surgery. Since surgery, my weight has bounced up & down the same 10 pounds. I was really getting into bad habits in the late fall & Christmas, but I have straightened out since Jan 1st. I was not eating too much, but was making terrible choices. Sugar is evil!! I was getting lots of exercise Christmas week but after going back to work it has been weekends only. That will change when the evenings get lighter & brighter. The weigh,t however, has not changed. I usually know when I have been bad & I own up to it. I don't normally go into the clinic & say I don't know why I gained or didn't lose. However, right now I feel that I should be losing & I am not. I have not weighted myself for the past few days because it is too discouraging. I don't want to sabotage my good habits.

I know what you mean I have never gone to the clinic either and not known why my weight has not moved . I have had many weeks when the scale did not move and I felt it should because I was eating less and excercising I satrted reading alot on metalbolism and actaully increased my calories and it worked for awhile but I got off routnine with my excercising when I was in New York and came home exchausted I have really been recouping but have hit the routnine again this week. I am worried about no restriction I really need the band I could not lose the weight on my own and keep it off I have speat thousands over the years and never got below 275 at 241 I am the lowest I have been in 15 years but it is like the light went on and I realize how fat I was and am. My goal is to get healthy I would love to be 160 but at this point if I break 200 I will be pleased.
With you rebanding how did they do it ? remove all the liquid? Did you have to go on the medifast? When they made the decison to reband how long did you wait? And with the new band do they need to start all over and only put 1 cc in a time or are they more agggressive? I know so many questions I am thankful for your posts I have been down these past two weeks

I had to go through the pre-op diet, but I used SlimFast instead of MediTrim. In the surgery the Dr repaired a hernia (which didn't show up on any scans or tests) and then replaced the band. Then the new band was hooked up to the old port. I ended up staying in hospital for a couple of days because I couldn't drink. I had to take the long slow route for fills, so I didn't get restriction until November (it lasted a couple of weeks). He added a very small amount at the last fill.
You definitely need a fill. Don't worry about getting close to 13 cc in your band. My band is 10 cc & it has 12 cc in it. Dr B said that they don;t worry about that any more. The company told them that the band can hold something like 30 cc (I assume this is not when in a patient) & not burst.
I weighed myself this morning & it has not changed an ounce!
