11 cc in my band

I have been absent for a while- So how are my old buddy's doing?
I had my third fill yesterday & boy do I have restriction! Dr B put in 4cc. Is he ever more aggressive than he used to be! He put 3cc in last time.  I have gotten used to not having any effects from the band & do I ever have to learn how to eat again. Nothing goes down quickly. I'm not complaining because I wanted this, I am just amazed how I slipped back to my old ways. I am back on the losers bench!

BTW Dr B said that they don't worry about exceeding the 10cc volume of the band because it can easily hold 30cc without bursting.

My last fill Dr. B put in .25 cc. He going slow, because I have a tendency to have acid reflux with a bigger fill. It was great for about a week, I didnt have any pain while eating , just got full faster. It worked the way I imagined it was suppose to,and I thougt this is great! but a week later its as if I have no restriction at all. I am getting frustrated. Why do I seem to lose restriction so fast? I now have 7cc total, but feel embarressed and frustrated that I have not lost any weight in so long. Yeah I am doing some things wrong, I am a sugar addict and being a diabetic this is a hard thing to manage. I usually pig out at least once a week. This week I am going to get back to the basic band rules. Lots of water, protein, no more diet pop, ( I usually let it go half flat, before drinking) and no more sugar. One day at a time. I am determined to lose 5 lbs before calling in for another fill. I am dissapointed in myself , I should be at goal by now. I want  to lose another 20-30 lbs. How do I keep myself motivated to diet when I seem to have no will-power!!!

Don't be so hard on yourself. Since Dr B decided I might need surgery last January or February, I gained 40 pounds plus. AND I was trying...at least most days.  walk a lot , but I seemed to gain it back so easily. I think that your body gets used to the lower calorie intake, so when you eat "normally" you gain weight. It's more than a will power issue & you have been hanging around this site long enough to know that is true. It is true for you too. When the band is not working for you, it is easier than ever to gain weight & harder than pre-band to lose.
My theory about why that bandsters have restriction just after the fill ****il you find the sweet spot) is that the area around the band swells a bit because of the change in the volume of the band. That swelling only lasts a short time. I have experienced this many times.
I am also a sugar addicted diabetic. What works for me is to be sugar free Monday to Saturday and reward myself on Sunday with whatever I have been craving. The very thought of never having sugar panics me, but I can go a long time as long as it is not forever.

Hi Kitty-Mom - I'm here - glad to hear from you - and glad to hear of your new start! You will do great.I'm good - have 20 lbs on since my Pertersens Hernia repair 2 yrs ago - 10 of those I needed - 10 of those I don't - so have gone back to basics and the scale is now going the way I want. Take care!

I have been away for along while it feels like forever but  decided after my surgery and getting the all clear no cancer that it was my chance to work with things and to lose this weight. I hope I do not fall back but I have a referral into pyschology just waiting to find out who will be replacing the current lady when she goes on mat leave.

Are you sure you have a 10 cc band he told me at one point that he is using 13 cc bands I was worried when I got up to 9 but like you I now have 11 cc my concern now is that I have a pouch, but it is still working . I gave up eating after supper anything but having a drink of decaf as I was having reflux but it is working.
