Another new member-in-waiting
Hi all - been on a waiting list for Marc Savoie since 2007 (I thought) when I called they said I was on the list since April 2009 and that they were working on the Feb 2009 waitlist patients. So I should call back in October to find out where I was at on the waitlist.
When I initially decided to go for WLS I was completely stunned to discover that Dr. Beausoliel in Moncton had a 6 year waitlist. Thank heavens this Dr. has opened up his surgery practice in Bathurst. I will stay in touch with this forum while I wait. By the way, has anyone been diagnosed as an adult with ADD - that was a very recent development(Aug-11), but it explains an awful lot!
I will watch the NB posts with interest to make sure everyone is having a positive experience in Badurse, so when my turn comes to travel up there from Freddy beach, I am prepared.
Good luck to all.

Hi Lisa --
You're over the worst with waiting now -- the fall is so close!
I was diagnosed with ADD 3 years ago. Probably had it all my life... looking back over my old report cards -- mine always says -- 'talks too much, disrupts others, needs to develop self-control'.
The staff at Bathurst are heaven sent, amazing.. and caring. You're in good hands with them.
All the best on your journey.

Hi there - did you ever get an appt call yet, or just the same call i did in the spring, to see if I still wanted to be on the waitlist....Im going to call tomorrow - they said over a year ago I was put on their list in April 2009, and I see two people who were on the list in March 2009 have had their surgery already.....
Yeah great news if they are telling you to expect an appointment. They told me that they had way too many patients waiting in queue for surgery and that they were halting seeing patients until they caught up. They also told me that another surgeon may be joining the team with Dr. Savoie so it should help keep things moving along. Best of luck! Dr. Savoie and his team are wonderful and I am waiting for my pre-op tests in Oct and they are telling me that I may have surgery before Christmas. Woo Hoo!

I confirmed with them last week when I went to the meet-n-greet in Bathurst that there will be another Dr. doing bariatric surgeries as of the end of September...it will take time for the Dr. to get set up and train a team however, so patience is still a virtue we need to have.
It's nice to see that everything is coming along. I signed my consent in May and am still waiting for my pre-op tests. Dunno if I'll get my surgery before Christmas but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
