Hi all
Ihave been off for about a year now dealing with health issues my weight loss has not changed now that i have my health straigthened out I want to change from a lap band to sleeve Ihave a call into Dr Beau just wondering if anyone else has done this and how the process went

Hi Shauna I have a sleeve from Dr. B. So you had a lapband in 2009 and now want it out? Just making sure that is what you meant. I am not sure if he will do that. Kitty and Jet had to put in new bands but he wouldn't change them to another surgery. (I think I got that right, correct me if I didn't) Anyway the only way to find out is to contact him and ask, sorry I am not much help but wanted to respond as you had none. Good luck... Trish

In my case, Dr. Beausoleil said that a revision would not resolve my issue therefore, re-positiong the existing band was the option. Every case is different and will be evaluated on its own merits.  I got the sense that he is not keen on revision unless it is absolutely necessary.

I think that will be my case as well as I have a pouch that has formed that being said I seem to have broke my plateau today I weighed in at 256.4 which is a big change for me I have hovered around 260 +or minus 2-3 pounds and after my hysto this spring when I got on the scale at the office I had gone up to 272 that was  4 weeks ago and since that fill I have had very little things getting stuck. I do not believe he will do anything if when I go back I am down and I still have 4 weeks before my next appt. I really do not want more surgery. I am trying to be happy with getting to where I am  but I am not sure I will be until I can say I have off 100 pounds and I really want to see below 200.

I would love to keep my weight loss at the current speed I am trying all shorts of things to increase my metabolic rate which has been in a deep deep sleep .

With all that I have read after my lap band and reducing my calories to 1200 only hurt my weight loss efforts we will see if eating the way I am now eat five times a day  and calorie intake is based on current weight times 7. ( I got this from a book put out by the biggest  loser )Mind you I have also increased my excercise to trying 6 days a week.

I just started reading a new book I bought on the weekend about meatoblism B or metabloic syndrome. It is written by a nurtionist but I am not so sure bascially it breaks things down into three phases if you are considered to have metabolism B a 8 week period in which you eat no more than 5 grams of carbs at any one time but it excludes yougurt, all breads and alot of fruits and veggies. The info in it which focuses on insulin resistance seems to be plausible maybe its just that it conflicts with so much other research, weigh****chers is now allowing you to eat more fruit. I have talked to some people *****ally believe we should only eat what is from the earth but this is something I can not seem to do and then I feel like a failure.

Sorry for my rant but I would love to have others comment :)
