Expectations ????

Ok, I recevied my 2nd appt letter today.  I am going back to see the Dr. next week.   I have made my decision on the type of surgery but I have no idea what to expect from here on in.  Has anyone been through this?  What do they do next?  Tests, etc... ??? I have some questions but really I am in the dark about what to expect going into this.  If anyone has any tips and pointers I would greatly appreciate them.
