Reviving the List

I used to maintain a list of waiters &  those sitting on the loser's bench. I thought I had a more recent List but this is the most recent one I could find. It is at least a year out of date. BTW I have 184 pages of posts here- i have been here too long!!
Send me the updates, i will change what I can remember.....

Well - bless your soul! Haven't seen this list in SO long! And so glad to see it now. Thank you SO much Kitty.

Just looking at some of the names on the list and wondering about so many of them - how they have done since surgery - like Bionic Jay - and  saw Keltic Princess' name there - we keep in touch - our surgery dates were the same and we met at our one month post-op appts - so many of us meet in that darn waiting room - Jacqueline Mac and I met there too - anyhow - Keltic Princess is doing well - they were posted out west in the Winnepeg area for 3 yrs - now back in Borden Ontario I think she said. So she is doing great. And of course my wonderful friend KC - Krista - of the bandsters club - we met at our pre-op education session oh so many years ago - still dear friends and I expect always will be. We see each other at least every year! Wondering how all the other folks are?!

hi i`m jacquelinemac      i had a band in 2007  but due to alot of problems i had the band removed   and    i waited almost a year an in  oct19 2010  i had a gastric sleeve   weight is coming off slowly  i had gained alot of weight after the band was removed i have another 7 pounds to lose before i`m back to were i was before the band was removed   i still have alot to lose still have a few issues with eating but no were near what i had with the band    i`m now starting to to see that theres hope   for this surgery   i had lost hope that surgery weight lose was my answer    but its working  its  slow  but its coming off   just have to be patience      jacqueline

PS - Jacqueline Mac was originally a bandster in 2007 - we met in 2009 - a month after I had surgery for a Petersens Hernia - again we met in Dr. B's waiting room. She had terrible trouble with I think what ended up to be an infected band - and was revised to an RNY in 2009 - I'm pretty sure - hope I'm not betraying any confidences here. Haven't heard from her in a while though. She may post on the NS board - I'm not sure - as she lives in Stellarton.

Sunnie41 - if you don't mind me asking - why has your wait been 7 yrs? Is that 7 years from when your first consult was sent? Have you had your first appt with Dr. S.? If you prefer not to answer - no problem. Maybe there are many other issues involved in your process that we aren't aware of. Just seems like an extraordinarily long time to me. I waitied 3 years - and that seemed like forever to me. I know the waits have increased. My consult to Br. B. was sent in June of 2005. I had my surgery in 2008. If my math is correct - your consult was first sent in 2004? Something doesn't seem right - or fair! Take care.

i have been on the list that long. i have not met with the dr as of yet. but was told (by his secretary) that it will be this fall.  i was off the list for a bit due to finances but was put back on a bit later. so that is why it has been so long.  i shake my head to know that if i hadnt had a bump in the road a couple years ago, it would be over and i would be living life... but no use crying over spilt milk lol. i just pray that they dont take coverage away for WLS now

So sorry for your bump in the road - I hope you get the show on the road so to speak sooner rather than later! Take care!
