marymother
I just saw this on another forum. I hadn't been on the other forum for a few weeks. This happened on March 11th and was posted by her son.
Man charged in head-on crash that killed woman
A 30-year-old man from Saint John, New Brunswick, is facing charges of criminal negligence causing death after a two-car collision killed a 50-year old woman Friday night.
Police say the head-on collision happened near the Saint John Airport at about 8:30 p.m. after the man's car swerved into the path of the woman's car.
They say the man was treated in hospital and released.
The victim was from Garnett Settlement, but her identity is not being released by police.
She was pronounced dead on the scene
The Airport Arterial Road was closed for three hours while police investigated.
They believe alcohol was a factor in the collision.
Her obituary is here:

OMG I am just stunned. I had wondered why we haven't heard from her in a while, She always had the time to say a kind word. That is so terrible, She was such a kind & loving women. I wonder if I can send a card to her sons through the funeral home.
I don't know what to do other than say a prayer for her....she surely is an angel now.

Just getting up and having a coffee after 3 busy night shifts in ER. I am stunned - and so saddened. Her obituary said she had Newfoundland roots - I remember that now. And her picutre - just lovely. What a huge loss for her family and friends. And she was a regular poster on this board - she will be missed.
I didn't know if I should post it or not and then figured that since it was on the other forum that I could.
Charlene, that was what my message to you was going to be.
I really liked reading her posts here and on the other forum as she was always so encouraging. Even though I only knew her through the cyber world she still had an impact on my life.

Charlene,
You and marymother had a close connection.... a bond on here that shone through. I'm sorry for your loss. I was looking back over our posts the last couple of days before she died. I remember the emotional eating post, and it felt intrusive at first to comment on it because of the personal information you were sharing between each other. It felt, reading it, like it was a conversation about grief and loss two close friends were having over a cup of tea at the kitchen table.
I decided to share the poem with you both... and reading back now -- she wanted to save it... it was 3 short days before she passed on. I hope it brings you comfort as well.
I'm glad she had you to talk to about her losses... her Mom, and mother-in-law. I'm grateful that I had the chance to talk to her. She touched my life too, even though I only knew her a short time through here.
I'll really miss her upbeat, kind, caring and compassionate ways. She was so encouraging to everyone.. genuinely cared.

Oh guys this is so tragic and senseless- I cant help but cry!
When Mary had her surgery I was one of a few others on the boards that had RNY too and shared many pms with her about her challenges- it felt good to help her and that all my complications could at least be some learning tools for another fellow WLS. She was so very smart and many times gave me some insight on tests.
I actually remember watching this story on the news when it happened- my husband is from Gondola Point and we lived in Rothesay for over 10 years- hubby and I both looked at each other and said about how bad that stretch of highway has always been and like most do -prayed it wasnt anyone we knew.
Mary was a trooper- she waited her turn for her surgery that was for sure. Geeze it just seems like yesterday she was so telling us how excited she was about her rekindled relationship with her ex-husband/boyfriend- wow this is just so shocking. She always spoke so highly of her sons.
JW is it possible that you can post the link to the other site or forum so that I could post and maybe her sons will see my condolences.
Life is too short and I now regret not making more of an effort when I was in SJ last summer to meet her - she will be missed on this board. I loved her "call-outs" when she would post who was missing in action and to please touch base as she worried!
God bless you Mary - you were a wonderful caring spirit -I was fortunate to have you as an online buddy!
Much sadness,

What is so tragic that it was a drunk driver that hit her. So many lives affected by a couple of glasses of liquid.
This is the link...she was known as Inuit on this forum:

thanks for the link - yes I noticed when re-reading it was a drunk driver - unfortunately we had personal experience with a great family friend in Saint John who wa**** while out running one morning by a teenage drunk driver - the kid walked away. However our friend was in a coma and has brain damage and has never been the same - we attended many MADD fundraisers when we lived in SJ . Our legal system is still not strong enough on offenders in my personal opinion.
