Medicare dropping Bariatric surgery?

I had a long talk with Rinnette today. Geriatric surgery is on the table to be cut from the list of surgeries covered by Medicare. Dr B was called to Fredericton last Wednesday. He prepared very well, with all the facts etc. They didn't want to hear any of it. I know this game. He was called to Fredericton so the government could claim that it had consulted all the stake holders. I'm afraid that if we don't do something NOW, we will lose the Bariatric program. If you have already had your surgery & you don't think this affects you- think again. Dr B said that he will never go private (self paying), he will move to another province!  What will all us Bansters do?  I suggest that you write the Minister of health & your MLA and maybe even the Premier. If anyone wants addresses, let me know & I will find them. I will need to know where you live.  Raise your voice or live with what you get.

So I will probably have to leave this province . It would be more cost effective and the wait time is less than a year if I move to Ontario. Imagine having to leave your home province...this sucks!

Are you serious, wow !!! The government is so stupid. Don`t they know that Dr.D is saving lives....this is ridiculous. I will do my part...this isn`t going to happened right...We all need to stick together.
