I have'nt had much problem with my lapband, till this week. My husbands twin brother died suddenly, and the loss has been so acute. I am not surprised I am tight, but today I cant keep anything down, should I just go on fluids for a couple of days, or call to get an unfill today? Is it true emotions can affect your band? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks
Sorry for your loss.
I would definitely go on liquids like Ensure or Slim Fast- 3-4 cans per day. You can probably have yogurt, but nothing more solid. It is the stress. Jet is right, you only need an unfill if you can't get liquids down. On the other hand, if this persists, call the nurse. Be very gentle with your stoma, I believe that all my problems go back to Sept 2009 when I had a bubble in my band expand during a flight, & I could not do anything, but wait & stay on liquids because I was in Europe. Try to relax about your band. Most of us have tight bands when we are stressed.
