who does fills

ok getting my band done in montreal, do either of the doctors here do fills for us who have it done else where . Or are we stuck with traveling to montreal for everything. what about if we have troubles will they look at us at the Dumont?

Neither doctor will touch another doctor's patient.  I have an acquaintance  who had his surgery in Toronto & they have a nurse locally who does the fills. I would have had terrible problems if I had done that because I have had a lot of problems. Many of my fills had to be done under fluoroscope. Getting surgery outside NB wouldn't be a problem for the majority of patients, but for someone like me, it would have been nightmare.

locally cool in freddy i take it . any way i can get more info so i don't have to travel to montreal for fills, so you are saying if i have problems i will be flying to montreal  that sucks , but waiting 6 months for surgery is better then 5 yrs .

I can't say that I blame you. I waited 5 years for my surgery & my health suffer in the waiting.

I think the nurse was in Oromocto. I can't understand why Medicare wouldn't cover the cost of fills. Mine are covered, why would they not cover yours- just because the procedure is done out of province? It is still done in Canada.

There was a doctor in the Woodstock area doing fills for $100 a pop. I am not sure if he still does them and the name of the dr. I could find out if you needed. Not sure where you are located Scully but that might be closer than Montreal. That is all he does though, not sure about if you need hospital care what you do. Good luck, Trish

not saying medicare wont cover fills but some doctors wont  touch someone who had it done elsewhere. not sure if  the doctor in moncton will or not, i will have too call him and see. so just tring too find out where i can get the fills done without having too go to montreal. paying $100 a fill is not a problem if i can get them when needed. thanks to the both of you for the replys.

Dr B will not touch another doctor's patient, not even Dr S's patients. If one of his patients goes to someone else for a fill, Dr B is done with you.

Are you self paying for the lap band...you really need to check what kind of follow up is included.  I had gastric bypass with Dr Christou, self pay in April 2010.
