Government budget reduction

The news said that the government is going to stop paying for some "elective" surgeries that are not necessary. I am really worried that bariatric surgery & related plastic surgeries are on the chopping block. I know that bariatric surgery saves money in the long run, but since when do governments care about anything beyond the next election. Just how much sympathy  do you think is out there in the general public? None- let the fatties go on a diet!  And a free tummy tuck? That  will play out real good as a jab at the last government & the good sense of the new one. As they say in the PR business- the optics on this are great.

That was exactly my thought when I read about this today. I hope that this won't be the case.

That was my first thought too when I heard about elective surgeries. Funny how we all though the same thing.
