I AM PISSED AND SADDENED

At my last visit with Dr. B I had lost and maintained over 100 poiund weight loss for over a year and was experiencing skin problems so he referred me to a plastic surgeon who would remove the pannie which may be covered by medicare. I called her office today to see if the referraal got there. Her receptioist informed me there is a 2 to 2 1/2 year waiting list to see her. I was floored. Here I was thinking I'd have this apron removed this year. This really sucks. I need to win a lottery big time. I am sooooo pissed off. You would not believe.

Why not get your referral sent to another doctor? There is a great plastic surgeon in Bathurst (sorry I don't know his name). I bet he is not as busy as a doctor in Moncton. I saw a pastics doctor here in Fredericton I went to & I don't remember what the wait was but it was not 2 years.

I'd love to  and I could get a referral in Saint John the problem is there are only a couple (if that many) who are doing the panniculectomy for free. SUCKS My sister is a nurse in Newfoundland and there she knows many people who have had plastic surgery for free following huge weight loss. And I am talking full tummy tucks and arm skin removal for free. IMAGINE

I am sorry to hear that you have such a long wait, it doesn't seem fair at all!  We had some financial problems this year and I used my plastic surgery fund to keep our household afloat, so I know that I will be feeling the same way if I make my goal weight.

There should be an easier way to take care of the plastic surgery after the weight loss!  After all you have done it seems so unfair....but that is just the way this journey goes for all of us....difficultly!

Moncton is bussy as there is only one DR that does it with Medicare Iam on the list too.But it is 1 year and you have to wait 2 years before you can have it done so that is good you are on the list.
There is a Dr in fredrictom don't know his name but A girl from work went and he does it with in a few mth as he is not bussy right now and it goes tho Medicare,but if it was not 2 years you had ban they will make you wait too.
The Dr in bathurst is way too busy and  will not do us As I looked into them too,good luck.
But if you call ther hosp in Fredricton they should be able to give you his #.
