Had my first fill yesterday!!!!
Yesterday I travelled to Moncton for my first fill and my weigh in. Everything went pretty good and Dr B. didn't have too much of a hard time finding my port and he put in 3cc's he said that the following visits will only be putting in around 1 cc's or so depending on how I feel. It was a bit painfull when he was feeling around for the port at first or I should say a bit tender but other then that it was good. My next visit for my fill will be some time in December. After I left the hospital I went over and had a wonderful visit with Denise and her mom she is doing pretty good and feeling better day by day. Denise looks wonderful and looks great. I got home around 7pm last night. Now for a few days of liquids and pureed food. I am feeling good so far.
Congrats on your first fill! You should feel some restriction from a few days for a few weeks. Some lucky few don't need another fill for months. I think I had restriction for a couple of weeks. I don't much restriction, but there is a little bit. The new medication seems to be working.....at least I don't seem to have any swelling.
OMG Beth!!! I just realized that you are down 78 pounds. I just have to hate you for it...I am green with envy. You are like the post child for the band. A year & a half out & I was only down 83 pounds & now I have gained a bunch of that back. I guess I have 2 choices- either let this depress the hell out of me or suck it up & be the band angel & get this piece of silicone working for me again!
BTW It looks good on you girl!

Thank you, when I first went to see Dr B I weighed 294 so I had lost some before seeing him for my first visit...I am not sure what I am doing to have lost that much but I must be doing something that is working for me...lol I find that I get full quite easy but I also find that I can eat pretty much the same food as I did before my band...I have never gotten stuck thus far (knock on wood) but that doesn't mean it won't happen which I am sure it will at some point as I am just a newbie to all this.
Don't get depressed I am sure everything will fall into place and you will be loosing again it is not an easy road that is for sure. I just take one day at a time and roll with the punches.
My side is a bit sore still from the other day and bruised as well....but I bruise easy anyway.
