Well this is actually Trish's sister Marj.  Trish wanted me to post a little regarding her surgery today.  She went down around noon and they got her ready for surgery for 12:30.  Around 4pm we began to worry that we hadn't heard anything. So I went in search of my baby sis.  I found her in ICU!  haha.  Nurse was surprised that we hadn't been informed.  She took me in to see her and Trish was having a hard time keeping her eyes open-good drugs I think! LOL!  She told me that she had been there since 3:15.  I went and got her hubby Jonathan and our cousin Susan.  We visited her for a bit and then she was out for a bit.  Went to eat supper and came back to find her sitting in a chair!  WOW! She even made it to the bathroom by herself. I thought she might have been overdoing it a bit! The respiratory specialist came in and got her to suck in on that breathing thing and she almost had it up to where it was before surgery-it took all the energy she had though-she couldn't stay awake after that! Anyhow, she was still having a hard time keeping her eyes open and felt hot and clammy(spelling?) and started to feel sick.  They got her a fan and some meds to help with the nausea.  She felt better and got back into bed.  We will be back to see her in the morning.  She was doing so great though!  I love her so much and was so proud of her!    Her new life begins today!  Can't wait to see how wonderful she does!   Well better go for now.  Just wanted to update everyone.

ICU! Is that the routine with a VSG? If not, it must have scared you all. Good to hear she  is doing well now. I am still sending positive thoughts & prayers her way.

Glad to hear she's doing well, and that she has a wonderful support system in place.
Hope she has a speedy recovery.
Thank you so much for taking the time to update everyone!

ICU is normal for RNY gastric bypass so I would imagine it is normal for VSG as well. They are both very invasive surgeries. There is actual cutting , removal or reorganization of internal organs. (mesentry, stomach, ect)

Thank you for posting Marj and be sure to welcome Trish to the losers bench. It is exciting and amazing here and I am sure she will love it. Wish her a speedy recovery and a great weight loss.
Welcome to your new life Trish!!!

Well ladies I am home, sweet home! Although I have to say the hospital was much quieter and had better pain meds! That is ok, I have a wonderful sister to help out with the chaos that is my life and so I am trusting her to handle it all. I am sipping at apple juice and water today, taking my pain meds by mouth as opposed to a needle. I am pretty achey all over but did just take 3-4 hours to get home. Will try to keep you posted and thanks for all the kind thoughts.
