Thanks so much, I have my moments of extreme hunger and other times nothing. I tried drinking cold water and it made me nautious. I am allowed Crystal light in water so I will try to sip at that. It will soon be over and on to the next phase. Thanks blueeyegirl:)

Hi Trish! Keep up the good work! Take it from someone who just got the surgey you will make it have faith hun. The hunger pains will go away not saying it won't make you stop thinking of food by as the days go by you seem to forget about it and then the excitment sets in. I know 2 weeks is long but it's so worth it in the long run! I had 3 weeks of shakes because or the mold at the hospital, then went to hell and back in a hand basket LOL . I got through it and you will too for that matter everyone will!! Your in my thoughts and prayers hun. Can't wait for updates after surgery, then we can welcome you to the losers bench right next to me LOL What ever you do if the doctors say you can go home but you don't feel good enough let Dr.B know!! If you want maybe I can go visit you!
Email me at [email protected] if you want company....
Take care cause we care
Hugs

Hey Denise thank you so much for all the encouragement. I am already excited and it does seem to get better as you go. I am on day 5 now and down 12lbs so there you have it. Thank you for the offer to come to the hospital, with you just out of surgery, you don't have to do that but it was sweet of you to offer. My sister, cousin and hubby will all be there and I am worried they won't let anyone else in the room!! But at least I have good support. Thanks again Trish

I had headaches as well for the first 2 days, they went away and stayed away. I had surgery done on the 2nd of october and am now down exactly 50 pounds and it is only the 18th...I read back in some of your replies to keep your eyes on the prize that is exactly my sentiments to you as well and if you are finding the shakes hard to fill you don't cheat with food just take an extra couple of mouthfuls a day. when I went to pre op I told tje nurse that as I was going to bed at night I needed something a little extra to go to sleep at night instead of tossing and turning while being hungry she said I couldn't have done better. And by the way if you havn't tried the chocolate boost when refrigerated they are much thicker than the other flavours and they always held me off the longest.Sorry to keep going on but just one more tip... the first 2 days I drank the shakes like a meal you know hours apart but then I got wise and realized I was doing much better taking sips of my boost all day long I called the clinic and asked if this was alright and they said absolutely whatever was working. good luck it will get easier.

Thanks so much Zardor4 for all the great advice and encouragement. What did you say you did to help with the tossing and turning at night? I am finding that the hardest because I am to hungry to sleep and am doing the same thing. I lay awake for like over an hour last night. I have been saving one shake for later in the day but it isn't quite doing it by the time I head to bed. Thanks again

Hi Trish,

It's the lap band that I am getting done per your earlier comment.

I am having a hard time sleeping too.  The night before last I dreamt that I ate all kinds of meals that I love and other goodies and woke up in a panick thinking I cheated throughout the night but my hubby reminded me that we didn't have anything in the house that I dreamt of eating and no, I didn't cheat.  Last night I couldn't sleep at all either and got up a few times ending up on the couch.  My tummy actually hurt last night because I was hungry and I realized it was really because I am getting dehydrated not drinking enough water.

Today...I am drinking lots of water, using the bathroom like crazy and don't feel hungry at all.  Still having weird dreams though with last night being about a shopping trip and seeing this girl about half my size then then realizing at the end that I was looking at myself.  This is definitely a psychological process on so many levels...

Keep going and we will get through it.  Head held high....Congrats again.
