We are not done yet my girl....Beth and I want to make a trip up to see you soon if thats ok.  if you are up for fighting this battle, we want to help.  I posted my plea for meditrim donations from many forums...NB, NS, PEI,Newfoundland and Ontario.....read some of those as well...they had some good ideas that you could try this week...the sooner the better.  Let us know how you make out tomorrow...we want some updates.  I cant wait to meet you...

Hey: I originally posted for with some ideas for you. I don't know if they deleted my post or not, but my account was deactivated. I will have to add you again -- so here's what I came up with for some ideas that may help you hun:

I'm so sorry to hear your struggles Denise.
You can ask for help so many ways.
Maybe SA will give you some extra income for the meditrim. There are also Social Workers at the hospital that can look into giving you some assistance.
Try your local churches or Saint Vincent de Paul Society, even a food bank.
Try pharmaceutical companies with samples, try Doctor's offices and clinics. I've seen samples before.

Ask someone to sponsor you, write the company that manufactures it. Ask the pharmacist that owns your local pharmacy to donate or check with his rep for samples, or take payment arrangements.

There is support for these types of situations around every corner.
Call your MLA - get whatever help you need from whatever source you can!

It's about creating a whole new life for your.
Don't give up.

I called around some clinics and pharmacies today in Dieppe, and they suggest trying your family doctor, or the hospital
I hope you try -- I'm sure I've seen samples.

You should also call back to Dr. Beausoliel's office to see if they have samples, and see if there is any other type of liquid diet drink you can go on in place of the Meditrim. I know you said that's what they suggested, but maybe they don't know your cir****tances and can offer a more affordable solution.

Best of luck!

Hi Angela! I am looking forward to meeting you as well! You made me see that the world is not always cold. For so many years I have asked for some help in the past and got laughed at. I come from a proud french acadian family. We were taugh to fend for ourselves, Help others but never ask in return! I saw for the first time that help is there, that you reach out and grab that hand and say please and thank and it really does help! So here it goes. Please can I have some help so I can have my life back. So my husband can have the wife he married back. So our plans to adopted can come true! So maybe just maybe I could walk again! So I could stop crying for once in my life and stop feeling sorry for myself. So I can stop insulting myself. I want my life back! I ask once again please people help me!!

I did make some calls todays. We don't have SA but we get the white card,my meds cost alot a month so they help with that thank god! LOL
They said all they can do is tell me that the DR needs to send a special authorization letter to their head office and it could take up to 3 months before I know. So I called the hospital and talked with Jackie in pre-op. She is the one who makes the schedule for surgery. I talked to her for a bit and we both decided with my stomach problems and the meds that I had to stop that its best to go back on them and wait till January for surgery. I will be one of the first to be scheduled. So I hope that from now to then, I will be able to get the shakes somehow. I am sure with your help and Beth's and everyone on here, I will be able to get them!
Take care cause we care

I am so proud of you Denise!  It takes alot to even feel the courage you did today to make the calls asking for help.  You deserve to have all those dreams you wish for....January is not far away at all and it will give you some time to mentally prepare again. It will give you time to source out options for the meditrim as well.  Beth and I will definetly need to make a trip up to visit you soon....I need to give you a big hug   I'm so happy to see you starting to see hope and that you are worthy of this great gift....we will be here to help you my girl.  talk soon
