Not so good news
Hi Scartears! Yes the doctor wants us to be on meditrim. They said it's the best thing right now.It cost $200 for 2 weeks.It's just the shakes and water for the 2 weeks as well!
As for the mold it's true the nurse told me.

Hi Angela! I am sitting here reading all these messages to my husband..All I can say right now is WOW!!!! My heart skipped a beat a tear in my eye and I can't stop saying WOW out loud and even my husband was surprise! I never got this much support from such a dear friend that I haven't met yet in my life. You are really a sweetheart to want to try and help me and asking others to do the same! Trust me this means more to me then anything right now! Like always there is a "BUT". I could never ask anyone to do this for me. I want this more then anything! I just couldn't do it. You are a heaven sent with a heart of gold hun. 
You ask how much it was my family payed just about $200 for it I don't know if its more if you just get the shakes or not and it needs to be meditrim. NO MORE BARS!! LOL Some would say what $200 that's all?? But to me $200 is like asking for a million! I ask when they called me to cancel if there was something else I could take and there isn't. So I don't know what will happen but I will let you know whats going on. For now I can't afford it not sure when.

Denise, do you know when your reschedule date is yet ....and are you willing to go through it all again? And honestly meditrim or optifast, they are never going to know what you used to get some weight off...they will only be concerned with the numbers but I bet people have meditrim around as well. Are you up to this again?????

Hi Angela! No I don't know when it will be. All they said was I was the first one to get the surgery. They will call me in 2 weeks to let me know. Yes I would be up to it again!I can't begin to thank any of you this is all so much to take in!! Never had anyone go to such trouble for me in my life. I'm all choked up and I can't stop crying. I will post again tomorrow night!

Of course there must be a reason why they recommend what they recommend based on results, but I drank diabectic Boost during my liquid diet and lost 20 pounds in two weeks.
My surgeon had also thrown the slim fast idea around before so I really don't think it truly matters what shakes you drink, boost, slim fast, ensure, optifast, meditrim, etc.
Maybe you can call the clinic on Monday and explain that you lost $200 and you really can't afford another?
Whatever you do, DO NOT GIVE UP. This surgery wll change your life. Trust me, I would never go back to my obese self.....NEVER.
You can't quit for $200.00 and you can't quit because you have to do liquids for another two weeks. It sucks, I know, but this surgery will give you back your life, and that's worth way more than $200,00 or two weeks of starvation.

You can ask for help so many ways.
Maybe SA will give you some extra income for the meditrim. There are also Social Workers at the hospital that can look into giving you some assistance.
Try your local churches or Saint Vincent de Paul Society, even a food bank.
Try pharmaceutical companies with samples, try Doctor's offices and clinics. I've seen samples before.
Ask someone to sponsor you, write the company that manufactures it. Ask the pharmacist that owns your local pharmacy to donate or check with his rep for samples, or take payment arrangements.
There is support for these types of situations around every corner.
Call your MLA - get whatever help you need from whatever source you can!
It's about creating a whole new life for your.
Don't give up.

I called around some clinics and pharmacies today in Dieppe, and they suggest trying your family doctor, or the hospital :)
I hope you try -- I'm sure I've seen samples.
You should also call back to Dr. Beausoliel's office to see if they have samples, and see if there is any other type of liquid diet drink you can go on in place of the Meditrim. I know you said that's what they suggested, but maybe they don't know your cir****tances and can offer a more affordable solution.
