Gallbladder - little organ that can cause havoc!

So on Monday I had my gallbladder taken out. The surgery itself was a breeze and I woke up in good spirits. It was way better than my lapband surgery.

After I woke up, a surgeon walked up to me and told me I needed to go back on Friday to get an ERCP procedure because I still have stones lodged inside my bile ducts which could cause liver infection, pancreatis, amongs other things.  I was half drugged and barely remember anything but..

I have been in serious pain since my surgery. The dilauldid has only been taking the edge of.  I guess I can still have attacks right now cause I still have stones and it could even damage the work the surgery did on monday. I go tomorrow thank god because I swear this pain is the worst pain ever. I don't have any fever and I can eat fine, it's the abdominal pain that's awful.

So tomorrow I go to get this 2nd procedure done. Since all surgeons claim my weigh loss attributed to my gallbladder issues, I wish they would of taken it out at my WL surgery to avoid this whole mess.,

Watch out for tyour gallbladders folks. It's a little organ that can cause serious heartache. I wish I wouldn;t of ignored it like I did. I was gettng attacks for a long time before I got it checked,

I just had the most excrutiating gall bladder attack. The doctor at emerg at my home hospital has done tests and is ordering and ultra sound but he is pretty sure its the gall bladder.  I have a call into the cllinic to see if I can take the pain meds he prescribed.  I want to get in touch with Dr. Beau to make sure that the route they are taking is okay with him or if he should be the one to do the work up and recommend surgery.

Needless to say - never had gall bladder issues until now.  Although I thing a bad spell I had on my last cruise may have been a gall bladder attack now that I look back on it.

Ahhh  the joys of WLS.

Hope you are feeling better.

Ahhh Ann, Not you too!!!!!!

I had two gallbladder attacks before my surgery but I never clued in, thinking it was gas, constipation, etc.

It's painful huh?

The route they take is safe with lapband because it's on the complete other side of the abdomen. My surgeon was fine with me going to another surgeon. I actually got my gallbladder removed at the Dumont. I really wanted Dr. Beau to be my surgeon since he does perform gallbladder removals but I got someone else.

Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Keep us posted sweetie!

Waiting on a reply call from the clinic to see if I can take the pain meds my GP gave me and to see if a visit with Dr. Beau is in order.  Hope to hear tomorrow.  In the meantime I think, looking back on it all that this was attack number 3 and it was way worse than 1 and 2 so I sure hope we get to the bottom of this fast.

I am glad you are feeling better though.

I will keep you posted.
