Good morning everyone, it has been 3 days since surgery and I am feeling a little bit better today the gas pains have subsided somewhat and I had a better sleep last night, today I am having some boost and was wondering should I put some powdered skim milk in with it or when I have a glass of milk put it in that for extra protien?  I figured there would be lots of protien in the boost that would help.  I have been sipping my water probably not as much as I should but I feel full and I don't want to be dehydrated either so I am sipping all the time.  For supper I will have a bit of tomatoe soup since I can have that now.  Any other ideas on day three until day 14 would be great picking are slim but if any of you have ideas as well let me know.

Have a great day everyone it is beautiful out there and I am going to go for a walk again today down the road.

Striving for a healthier me.

Nice to hear that things are going well for you.  Sounds like you are on the right tract :-)  The liquid diet seems to take for ever - but it will pass - one day at a time.  You are doing great.  Keep up the good work!

CONGRATULATIONS on getting your surgery and welcome to the losers bench Beth!!!! Sorry I have not replied sooner but I'm so glad to see you home safe and sound. These next few weeks will suck big time but they will pass quickly. The thing no one realizes when they start the 2 week pre op fast is that from day one of the fast it is almost 6 weeks before you can eat a "real" meal again. But the day will come Beth and you will be eating real food again. I can't help much with the ideas because I had RNY and it was a bit diferent but I did make a stew, put it through the blender and drank the strained liquid on day 5 post op. It tasted so so good. I don't know if you would be allowed to do that or not but my my ot was so good after going so long without tasting food. Looking so forward to reading off your "victories" from here on out. You must be glad it is over.

Im glad you are feeling better Beth.  I wouldnt worry about adding the milk to the boost...make sure you drink water but as long as you are keeping some liquid in you, you will be fine.  I had some homemade carrot soup my sister made me for days..it was awesome.  Glad to hear you went for a walk too.  Great job friend
