3 Years Out
I haven't been around much as of late but wanted to pop in and let folks who know me know I am still alive :) I had my 3rd Bandiversary this weekend. I'm higher than I want to be and ready to recommit and get back on track.
When I started this journey, I was 270 lbs. Within the first year (if memory serves) I lost exactly 100 lbs by my one year date. I went on to lose another 20 putting me at my goal of 150 lbs. Over the next year or so, I gained 20 lbs back which wasn't great but easier for me to "live life" with. I stayed at 170 for a year.
This February, I met the man of my dreams and since that time, life really "got in the way" and I'm up to 185 lbs as of this weekend. I know it's time now to realize that he is here to stay and I can refocus on my weight loss :) We are head over heels in love and I've never been this happy in my life. I have met my soul mate. Now it's time to get my body / weight back into a zone where I feel healthier and happier as well.
Today I am recommitting. I'm going to track my calories and stay around 1600. This is what has always worked for me. I do have difficulty with meat and eggs so protein tends to be a struggle for me but I am sure there are options for me. No more excuses.
I had 1CC taken out earlier this spring as I could not each much of anything and although I have gained, I like this level where I am at now. I believe I can make this work again.
I am on vacation for a month and ready to come up with a plan that will work for me again --I know what to do. I just have to do it. So for the next month, I'm really going to refocus and hope to lose at least a lb a week here on in. 20 lbs by the end of October is my first big goal. My first mini-goals are (1) just to be more conscious and stay within 1600 calories daily and (2) do an 8K race in 2 weeks. I'm going to shoot for jog 10 / walk 1 and do the best I can.
Thanks for listening, folks.

Krista, your half full glass definately helps fill my half empty one. Thank you for being so positive. You don't come on much anymore ( neither do I, I guess) but when you do, you sure do lift us up. Congratulations on the 'soul mate'. We wait a long time for him/her to come but when he/she does, oh look out, the wait is so worth it. You will definately accomplish your goals for October as you have in the past. Good luck as your journey continues and have lots and lots of fun with your new life. And oh, by the way, happy bandiversary!

Good morning Krista: You are an amazing person you have done very well along your journey for the past 3 years and to pretty much maintain your goal is great. I know you have gained some weight but I know you can work at taking it back off because you have the mind set and can do it.
I am so happy for you that you have found your soul mate that is an amazing feeling isn't it? He is there for the long run and I know you will make the best of things and go from there. Today is the first day for me starting my 2 weeks meditrim shakes and bars and my surgery is scheduled for August 10th at 7:00am with surgery beginning at 9:30am so I am excited and can't beleive that it is finally here. Scared also at the same time but that is normal for that feeling. I will soon be starting a new chapter in my life on the losers bench in 2 weeks.
I wish you all the best in your goals and I know that you are a strong lady and can do it. Just keep lots of PMA(Positive Mental Attitude) and that will certainly take you a long way.
Have a great day and smile

Krista you can accomplish anything you set your mind to. I wish I could run with you. I have had to put my running on hold until I can get my stomach issues resolved. I had set 2 running goals for 2010: to run a 10K by end of July, and a half by the end of the year. I am still going to get that 10K. That is what I will run at Legs for Literacy, no matter what. Hey, maybe you can come to Moncton and run with me!
