Stuck every time I eat!

Hi:  It's been a week and a half since my fill and I still stick during every meal.  But I have lost so little weight to this point I really want to keep my band at 4 cc's so I will kick start my loss again.

Am I crazy?

Hi Chrissy,

For us newbies on here could you please explain what it means to be "stuck"?

Bandsters can get food "stuck" in the band if they are too tight.

Chrissy,
That is the biggest mistake you can make. You will end up with an unfill that is much bigger that if you go in before this goes on too long. Besides, if you don't get enough calories, your metabolism will slow down. Usually the band stops metabolism slow down, but if you are starving , it won't help. Getting stuck every time you eat is very very bad. I was only full enough to get stuck every few days and I ended up with a total unfill. Your stoma will;l start to swell and they will have to take a lot more out to allow you to heal.

OK, you convinced me.  I am picking up the phone right now.  Thanks for finally convincing me.

Just made an appointment, having an unfill on Wednesday afternoon.

Thanks again.

You have done the right thing. If I had gone for a small unfill when I needed, I doubt that I would have had that complete unfill in emerg.
