Update me people
Yes, I've been very quiet these past couple of months. Nothing new has been happenning except I'm very busy but I have been lurking on the board - no worries.
How's everyone doing with their band and bypass?
I've been doing well. There are days where I hate the band, I won't lie because I have crazy restriction right now and the "old" me wants to eat a full cake, and I can't so I get frustrated, but all in all it's worth it.
I'm 26 pounds away from my goal. It's pretty crazy to even think about. My weight loss has been ongoing without any major plateaus. I currently have 6.5cc in my 10cc band and I don't see anymore fills in the near future. I think my body just needs a break from it, my stoma is very senstive to fills and I think I'll be good at 6.5 for awhile.
I've been doing water aerobics 3 times a week now it's been months and I ABSOLUTELY love it!
The band has its struggles. It's not easy and it's not a walk in the park. Not sure I would recommend it but it has given me my life back, so I can't really complain.

Like you , I find the band a challenge, I have good restriction now, but some days I long for the days when eating a juicy steak was a great treat, now its a chore to eat without feeling the tightness from my band, I cant eat much of it, even half a sandwich eaten with great care is a challenge. Its not easy having the band, and not sure yet if I would go this route again if I had it to do over, but it is working, I am losing weight, and I am sure my health will improve. I just miss the meals I use to eat, the yummy barbecues in the summer and eating out with friends. Its a real learning curve when you finally do have restriction and I realize it will take time to get use to the new way of eating. Thanks for your honesty, its nice to know my feelings are shared.
