Is it normal to be so tired

Sorry I havnt been posting much lately but I am so tired.  I need a nap every day for an hour or 2!  Im having trouble with my feet again too.  I have another appt with my chiropractor today though so hopefully he can fix that up for me.  Before surgery my sugars were running close to 8 if not over some days and my husband checked yesterday and I was at 4.4 which may be why I am so tired.  My family doctor has given me a slip for blood work but wants me to wait two more weeks since we changed my medications some.  Any body else go through this

Being tired is par for the course. Even if you had not had bypasss but any surgery, being tired is to be expected following surgery. You are not even a month out yet. It will take 6 weeks to even start to feel normal after any type of surgery. Now you are trying to heal with a whole lot less food for rebuilding. expect to feel this way for some time yet. There are still days now that I need to take a nap.

Hi Angela

I had a breast lift/reduction March 17 and it was the same ... tired and depressed. I returned to work after 4 weeks and I absolutely needed that time off. How long your surgeon signed for your time off from work?

yup, I was tired for about a month, but now I feel better than ever and you will too, just give yourself time.

Hi Angela - even though the RNY is a surgery WE plan - remember it is still surgery AND an anesthetic - and a major insult to our body. It takes time to rid our bodies of all those nasty anaesthetic drugs that may be lingering - and also time to recover from the surgery itself. Take your nap and be good to yourself - a well rested body heals faster. Take care!
