I never want to get stuck again

I was eating a piece of chicken and brussel sprouts when after my second bite it felt like my thorat had closed over, my two boys age 10 and 5 began freaking out I could not talk hubbie grabed me a bucket and I tired to get the piece of whatever up but  could not ,my quick thinking hubby ran and got me  a small drink of pop and the gas was just what I needed . I do not understand why good foods have diffculty going down but crackers etc have no problem. I am goign to need to find some other choices of meat  I think. I am having on eof my should I have gotten gastric by pass instead moods.

That's not always the answer. Granted I do have it a bit easier than you do but...... I am continuously losing more and more foods. I can no longer eat most meats. I have a real hard time and usually give up after the first bite of bread. crackers and rice. I cannot tolerate fresh veggies at all and am really restricted in fresh fruits I can eat. I am down to apples for fruit. I can eat grapes and plums and other soft fruits but because of their sugar content, I dump on them. My grocery list is getting shorter all the time. No more cereal of any kind. Lost my eggs now too.  And to add to my misery I have been stalled since Christ wore flip flops.

I guess the only good thing is I cannot eat any sweets or ice cream. If that's a good thing. Good news though. Orange Julius now has a smoothie lite made with splenda and not sugar and I can drink it.   250 calories per 20 ounces.

Oh yeah I checked my b/p last Friday and it was  94/58  Awesome.

I unforuately only seem to have problems with foods that are good for me, mind you I have not had many "bad" foods but the occasionlly one has not triggered anything , I try not to have anything in the house taht would be bad that I like so when I sturggle with the good foods I do not just cave in . I need to aske do you have snacks through the day? I have been having snacks but read on the lap band site that we should only eat three meals and nothing in between when I do that I find I am hungry.

I eat my snacks faithfully everyday because 1) The Dumont crew insist that I do and 2) because I would be too friggin hungry if I didn't

I try to aim for 1200 calories a day. I believe anything less than 1000, you are sabotaging yourself. I eat 3 snacks because if I don't I would not get 1200 calories. Besides, who can stick to an eating plan if you are hungry all of the time. I try to eat protein dense snacks like an apple and an ounce of cheese or a tablespoon of peanut butter on sliced apple.

I had not thought of teh apple and peanut butter but will try it out . I also went and bought myself some cliff bars 11 grams of protein and 70 % natural. I intend to incorpoarte them when I am running to the gym.
