We got y'r good news & y'r bad news....
i have been really sick for a couple of days. It started Wednesday, when nothing solid would stay down, but I didn't feel sick. I was going to liquids by the evening, but that night I had horrible acid reflux and night cough as a result. I was up to the bathroom every 30 to 40 minutes vomiting acid and slimm. Yesterday I had all the symptoms of a flu- hurting all over, headache, fatigue etc.. Last night was almost but not quit as bad. This morning I called the clinic and spoke to Lisa (is she new?). She is not sure if I am too tight or the flu or both. Neither of us knows what came first the flu or too tight (kind of chicken & egg thing). During the day I am able to keep enough fluid down to keep me hydrated because the skin pinch thing is OK and I pee at night (weird eh?- only at night). Lisa told me that if I get worse, I am to go to the Dumont emerge, otherwise I have an appointment for Monday at 3:00.
Now the good news. I asked Lisa how much I weighed on Jan 22.....I am down 22 pounds. That part is good. I have lost a pound a day for 3 days- that is not healthy. I am going to try & sleep.....

I do not think you are getting enough liquids or you are not emptying your bladder enough, do you have a history of unriary tract or bladder infections? You could feel similar to the flu with either. At night how often do you pee? On what part of your body are you doing the tugor test(skin pinch ) ie hand forehead etc?
If you are still feeling the same today I would recommend a drive to the Dumont Emerg today and not letting things go until Monday.
Awesome news about the weightloss.

Charline sounds like we are on the same flight you and I :(
I have a really bad pain in my left side; just got back from the mall with the girls and I thought I was going to pass out from the pain. Too stubborn to go to emrg yet though. I have to go to Rothesay tomorrow.
If I am still feeling this way when we get home tomorrow, definitely going to emerg. They won't empty your band by the way. They will remove 1.5cc's I believe is what the girls told me on Tuesday. They used to empty, but now they have a new protocol in place.
If I can tough out the weekend, I might see you on Monday.

At noon I couldn't get even a sip of fluids in, so after talking to Lisa from the clinic, I headed for Moncton. I don't recommend going to the emerg if you can avoid it. Other doctors at Dumont do not know anything about the band. I had blood work and an xray. The doctor didn't ask anything about my band. The blood work was to determine if I was dehydrated.....what ever happened to the skin pinch test.? I could have told him that I was not seriously dehydrated. After the blood work and xray result the genius tells me that I am not dehydrated and that there isn't a blockage in my stomach and I can go home. So I ask why I can get any water down. So he shrugs!! I suggest that we give me a drink & see what happens. Of course I spit the water up...as I expected. So I am off to xray to have some fluid removed. The clinic told me that in emerg the routinely takes 2 cc out. This doctor took out 9 cc plus whatever spilled out all over me. Bloody hell! I didn't know I had near that much in my band. Last December Dr B told me I was wide open after he removed 3 cc. I guess I am beyond wide open now. The good news is that my flu symptoms disappeared a couple hours ago and I feel 100% better.
I'm glad to hear that you are feeling better, sorry to hear that your band is empty again. So now what is your next step....going to see Dr. B? The thing that confuses me is how come you were doing fine and then just outta nowhere you became to tight? When I had to go to the Dumont ER, I knew I was too tight by the time I got back to Fredericton from getting my fill.
I have been on the tight side since January. Most of the time I was fine, with the occasional tight day. When I started throwing up with flu, it didn't take long to be too tight. i am planning to go in on Monday. i had an appointment from my first call to the clinic. Also acid reflux had returned lately, so that may be the problem too.
Well, I will definitely tough it out until Monday to go to the clinic cause there is no way I want some Joe removing more than necessary. The girls at the clinic on Tiesdsay told me that if you need to go to emerg, they have been instructed to remove either 1.5 or 2 cc's.I would certainly inform them on this incident.
Glad to hear you're feeling better though.
